Yeah. Great game. If you like other Roguelites like Gunfire Reborn or Vampire Survivors-esque games, get it.

This game is really not that deep. I don't understand why people like this. It's just a walking simulator that is desperately trying to be deep with its dry "jokes" and "insights", but none of it's deep. It's all obvious ♥♥♥♥, like how pointless grindy / easy achievements are. Yeah, we know most achievements are grindy or easy or pointless. You don't need to make a game to "comment" on that.

This game actually has nothing to do. No content. It's just a walking simulator in an office with a narrator.

"But he's commenting on how there's nothing to do, and how pointless the game is! What a masterpiece!"

There is literally a section of the game where the narrator is just rambling about negative reviews on the game. One of the reviews wishes for a skip button. You then spend the next 30 minutes in front of a skip button, just listening to the narrator. It's the generic-ass "Modern games just allow players to skip everything nowadays" narrative. How lame.

This game could be turned into just a blog, or some article. It's not a game. Don't buy it expecting to play anything.

I'm glad I bit the bullet and got this game.

Fairly short game, but I absolutely loved it.

If you've found this and are on the fence, I'd say definitely go for it.

Yeah, not gonna lie, the influx of negative reviews seems to be either not real reviews, or morons.

All of a sudden a bunch of negative reviews come out of nowhere claiming he "removes content".
Try and point to the place in any of the recent patch notes where it says "Removed" at all. You won't find it. Also, "locking content behind paywalls" is called "DLC" lmao.

Regardless of this, the developer being "unprofessional" is not a reason for a negative review of the game itself. The game itself is good. If you don't like the developer, don't support him in the future. Simple as that.

The game is quite fun to play honestly, but if you're not interested in ready or story at all, then don't get this game.

This game's main appeal is its visual gimmick, fun little bonds you form with some of the characters, and minigames and puzzles.

Its main downside is that it's pretty short and little to no replay value.

I WOULD agree that if you're looking for "bang for your buck" this game is not it. But if you're interested in experiencing what hyperbolic space is like for yourself, and enjoy cute dialogue and minigames, then it's a decent purchase!

Don't get me wrong: The game's decent. If there was a neutral option I would pick it instead, but here we are. Anyways...

TLDR:
++Decent graphics, atmosphere, and music
+Most puzzles are okay.
+Story is decent.

---A fair number of puzzles (especially in chapter 3) are poorly designed or have illogical solutions.
---Difficulty spike in last chapter.
--Hidden object hunting KILLS the fun. Not finding a hidden object means no puzzle solving until you do.
-Ending is a little unsatisfying because of lack of explanation (yes, I was following the story)

Overall, a 6/10, but it's just not good enough to truly recommend. Personally I enjoyed more logic-oriented puzzle games like The Talos Principle or The Witness. I understand this game isn't exactly like those ones, but that's not the reason I dislike it. It's more of a hidden object puzzle game, but like I said, some of the puzzles are just not the best.

I just finished the game and honestly, it definitely wasn't my favorite. I love puzzle games and this rubbed me the wrong way. In the beginning of the game, the puzzles are stupid easy and obvious. Around the last chapter, chapter 3, the difficulty spikes way too much.
But see, here's the main problem and the reason I am recommending against the game (though, it's not terrible): A fair number of puzzles do NOT have clear cut or logically sound conclusions. The whole fun in a puzzle game is figuring out the answers by yourself by connecting the dots. But sometimes in this game the dots you're connecting have barely any reason TO be connected. For example, some puzzles in this game have a solution that is "Oh, I need to enter in a code? Hmm, well, I saw some numbers on an unrelated poster I saw once. Let me try that!" Keep in mind, you see numbers all throughout the game, and my point here is that a completely unrelated poster that's found in a different area of the chapter and in NO WAY suggests that it should be used in that place having the solution is ridiculous.
Some puzzles have downright ludicrous, complex solutions with barely any clues leading you to that solution. For anyone who's done it, you HAVE to admit the second part of the Planetary puzzle in chapter 3 (not the one with journal solution, but the paper solution) has VERY LITTLE justification for its solution.

Hook is an interesting puzzle game which is very easy at first, but becomes much harder later on. You have to press big grey (gray? I don't know) buttons which go through pathways to retract bold lines. However, if any two lines clash, then it's game over (or if you're in the later levels you have lives). This very simple concept actually becomes very complex with things like radio signals and rotating pathways. Overall, this game does its job as a puzzle very well, and I recommend it unless you hate puzzles. Definitely worth one dollar.

Please note: This Review is slightly subject to change mainly because at the time of this writing I have 70 hours.

The Campaign: While I have not finished it, so far it is quite nice. However sometimes the missions can become confusing. (Who is your enemy/ally, Where/What is your objective, etc.) Other than that, the campaign is quite fun and engaging.

The Zombies: This is probably the main reason why you want to buy the game. If you love zombies, BUY IT! The game gives you the four original maps to start (Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi no Numa, and Der Reise.) But that's just the start of it. There is also a HUGE modding community making CUSTOM maps for zombies. That's right. Thousands of zombie maps and mods that are ACTUALLY good. I downloaded one the other day that was a remake of Nacht Der Untoten and it was BEAUTIFULLY SCARY. I'll leave you with the thought of having thousands of awesome CUSTOM zombie maps and mods.

The Multiplayer: The multiplayer is fantastic, just like the zombies. This game nails the atmosphere of a WWII war PERFECTLY, and it really gets you going. It doesn't seem cool at first, but when you jump in and play it really becomes addicting. HOWEVER there are a few problems. First, there are some servers that are crouch only servers, which, while making battles SLIGHTLY more tactical, ruins the fast paced gameplay it's supposed to be. But remember only some
servers do this. Also, the customization in this game is slightly lacking to that of other games it seems. Finally, there are SOME hacked servers and hackers. Hacked servers level you up very fast, which COULD you get you banned, but it's unlikely.

The Community: This community is great. As I said before the modding community is friendly, helpful, and amazing overall. The multiplayer is much better than other C.O.D games, as it has less ragers, hackers, and squeakers than other games. HOWEVER, since this game is 7 years old, there is not as many people playing it. ESPECIALLY vanilla zombies. Most people play multiplayer or custom zombie maps. So you might have a hard time finding a vanilla zombie
match with 4 people.

Overall, the game is one of the best C.O.D games TO THIS DAY, as it has a wonderful community, pretty good graphics, scary zombies, and intense multiplayer, and a great campaign.

The Scores:

Campaign: 8/10
Zombies: 10/10
Multiplayer: 8/10
Overall: 8.5/10

If you even REMOTELY like Call of Duty, GET THIS GAME. There's VERY LITTLE reason you shouldn't get it.
