This game has a ton of depth to it and gets very frequent updates from the dev team.

My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to run well on 4k displays even at lower graphics settings

I had doubts about this game since I have seen many disappointing visual novels, but Slay the Princess is a rare gem. Every choice really does matter, and even a slight variation in how you approach the same scenario will offer a different result.

The developers understand how readers think when they play this type of game and take that into consideration when offering you choices to make. I thought this would be a short story, but even just the 3 hours I have spent on so far haven't gotten me far enough to feel like I fully understand the story.

If you enjoy stories that allow you to do what you actually want instead of just having a limited selection of choices, this game is worth playing

Every time I think I've finished, there's more game. I keep quitting in frustration only to suddenly be drawn back to figure out what's left. It never ends. Send help

It's good, but I don't like that you are forced to beat the game to use a custom difficulty setting. I don't feel I should have to clear the entire game and start over just to play it the way I want.

Let the player have control over their experience

I've seen a lot of people talk about having a hard time seeing things in this game, but I honestly feel like that's a good part of Ostranauts intended challenge. Of course you would have a hard time seeing inside an powered derelict if you don't bring a light with you, otherwise there would be little reason to use lights and no reward for learning how to optimize the way you explore.

There is a learning curve for the UI and controls, but it's something you can easily memorize in under an hour if you reference the instructions provided ingame.

Ostranauts still lacks variety in the mid-to-end gameplay loop. Much of the implied complexity regarding managing ships and your characters has yet to be implemented, so there really isn't much left to learn after you have salvaged a dozen or so ships. The ship building process leaves a lot to be desired. The current construction mechanic is clunky to the extent of being not worth the effort of attempting more than basic repairs or modifications to existing ships.

I understand that this game is technically still in Early Access, but I would like to see more frequent updates. As of this review, we haven't seen a major update since the end of last year. That's 5 months of nothing but hotfixes and minor updates. Whether or not this continues will have a strong effect on my and likely others opinions about the game and its future.

It's good to see that Sony listened and stopped trying to push their junk onto the developers

There is no game like Kenshi. If this game is meant for you, you will be hooked within the first few hours of playing it. Kenshi scratches an itch I didn't know I had. Once you have finished with vanilla, you can use overhaul mods to change almost everything in the game and make it feel new again

Cosmoteer is the best ship-building I have ever played. I've been playing it since well before the Steam release and will likely continue to play it off and on as it continues to be developed.

The only thing I wish was more fleshed out is the economy. I like building mining ships and trading resources. It would be cool to see the addition of player created trading outposts or some other way to increase the depth of the economy

The graphics look good but the optimization is Bad

Even with a liquid cooled overclocked RTX 3090 Ti I am still hitting maximum GPU usage and getting under 60 fps when using small to medium size craft at medium or high settings. The UI feels like a step back from KSP 1, losing its iconic design in favor of what I can only describe as a pixelated oversimplification of an interface. The right click menus most KSP 1 players are used to quickly adjusting their craft with are more difficult to get through because you have to look through the full parts menu instead of just seeing the part you selected. The UI for the right click menu has also, like most of the menus, become harder to read information from at a glance.

SAS, from what I can tell, has not been improved at all. Craft still shake uncontrollably or rubber band.

Flying wings don't seem to simulate correctly and will yaw in a particular direction which can change when reloading (even if you didn't modify your craft).

tldr; Don't buy it yet. You will have a better experience with the original KSP
