Incredible game, absolutely worth every cent of the asking price and more. Do yourself a favour and pick it up. So much value for money and honestly such a great time, especially with a few friends.

Hands down the best 'Zombie' game I've ever played, if you can afford the price tag, do yourself a favour and experience this epic story for yourself.

Castle Rock Beach, West Australia, like all of Matt Newell's work is absolutely stunning and one hundred percent worth the around an hour worth of playtime to finish the objectives, let alone all the time you might spend playing digital photographer in this painstakingly constructed, detailed world.

This is the culmination of the knowledge of multiple equally stunning and similarly styled games by the same developer in different locations in the world. It's clear to see that with every project, the quality is only increasing. This time I can actually see it through the perspective of someone who lives in the area, and I've got to say that this title captures West Australian beauty in a way that I've never seen before in a digital medium.

I went into this game relatively blind with a friend, and I can confidently say both of us had our breath taken away when we saw the sunset version of the map, and again when discovering the drone.

I really can't recommend this game enough. It's incredible, I love it, you'll love it.

Thank you cavesrd.

Remnant: From the Ashes has the framework for an incredible game, but really fails to live up to the nearly $60 AUD price tag it's asking for.

The game has the one thing we've all been looking for from a Souls-like, which is a stable co-operative experience. This should definitely be commended, if not for it being the only reason I had any more than sixty minutes played. I fully believe that playing this game without at least one other person is near impossible, not due to difficulty but due to the repetition and monotony that plagues every corner of this game.

Speaking of difficulty, Remnant has a big problem with maintaining any sort of understandable, scaling difficulty. Throughout almost the whole game my co-op partner and I would breeze through both filler monsters and bosses alike, only dying potentially once per zone / boss at most, until about 70% of the game in which you fight a set of two butterfly-esque bosses that took us a collective 80 deaths. This experience proved to be the most fun that we both had in our time with Remnant: From the Ashes, and I truly wish that more of the bosses proved to require such communication and understanding of boss mechanics and phases.

Loot and rewards are also an area in which Remnant falls short. Every single piece of consumable or upgrade material obtained feels inconsequential, not to mention the trait system, which allows you to spend points obtained every level on minute upgrades such as reloading 1.5% faster. I did however really enjoy the items that would drop from boss monsters allowing you to create new weapons or abilities.

Visual design is definitely an area in which this game shines. The graphics and art design of monsters, environments and weapons are quite engaging and pretty to look at. Unfortunately, there is an aspect of tile-based random generation to the levels, meaning that sometimes you will go through a relatively short set of areas and see the same entrance or other rooms repeatedly which can really make the game feel quite repetitive, and take away from the above average visuals the game has.

Over-all I think for a more reasonable price maybe 20-25 dollars max, this game could be an enjoyable day or two with a friend, but for the current price point and given the quality of game, it's just not worth it. It's definitely alright, but I don't feel comfortable spending $60 AUD and eight hours for "just alright".

As a PS for the developers,
Please keep making games, hone your craft and keep them coming because you have such amazing potential, just a bit wonky execution this time.
