its probably the best of the genre. Its not a Horror game per-say, though immersive sims do rely on that a lot. at least, for the beginning. As you explore, you will understand how everything works, you will find power, one way or another. then the game changes and its your game now. Enjoy the crawl.

It didn't dawn on me that this was in an alpha state until i blundered into a "under construction" signpost.

Its high octane FPS action core lovingly wrapped in a roguelite wrapper. the persistant currency you get, help to make the building of your character in the game much easier, so you are not going run after run trying to get a synergy. the further along you get the easier it gets finding the weapons, or getting access to the skills.

there is a hint of secret branching paths. they are fully in and have very varied maps, and hazzards, though there is not any driving force between choosing either path, and they converge after a couple maps. it will be interesting to see what they make of it.

do you like actually being able to play the games you buy? then this is not the collection for you!
its [current year] and when your metroid-vania does not support controllers, you messed up. you see when the store page shows "partial controller support" that partial is the main menu used to select the game you want to play, and the rewind feature ONLY, and not the actual gameplay. if i had to choose i would rather have the controler work ingame and menu with the keyboard. any changes you make to the controller in the collection options will not reflect at all in the game, which is a cruel joke against the player.

SOMETIMES you may get the controller to be supported and everything will be fine. up until the game just decides to crash.

its crazy to consider that you would have a much better experience playing a pirated copy on an GBA emulator, or playstation emulator for dracula X
i was obviously happy to pay for the games, but woof, this is completely unacceptable.

First of all this is a tile matching puzzler...
That being said, don't think that you have little control of the outcome. You get a lot of influence over the board, and the enemies weaknesses and attack patterns must be known to win. There is a lot of strategy involved to get single turn clears. Its addicting. not as deep as the binding of Issac, but i would say a good 40 hours of gametime.

I bought this game with the 2 for one deal during the alpha. I bought an third copy for a friend and it was worth every penny.
I can't recommend this game high enough.

A rogue lite game with as far as I can tell no ending. Its all just the struggle to be as powerful as possible before you are eventually ground into the dirt by the never ending waves of increasingly difficult enemies. the pressure never stops and you are forever pushed to find the next item.

The Items as far as I can tell do not cap, and diminishing returns are not a thing, so each iteration of an item will stack. you could stack these things until you can barley handle it and it's amazing.

best if played with friends and coordination as to who gets what can be the difference between a nice brisk 3 level romp and an hour long multi loop epic where you are spinning death only stopped by sheer instant gibbing power the second you blink. and with the ping system al-la Apex legends, you can communicate fairly well, but to be honest your going to be on discord with your mates, and that's best.

OK, here I go.
Lets put aside the fact the launch was delayed, multiple times, after the last second that THEY decided on. these things happen

lets put aside the fact that on launch the servers were down for HOURS, thus meaning that i was unable to return the game once finaly got my first look at it. Thats on STEAM's still archaic return policy, and luanches are hard.

Lets put aside that when i finaly got in game every player in the zone was forced to spawn in the intro town. This forced me to spend HOURS fighting a consistant 2 second rubber band

Lets put aside the game runs at 22 fps on a 1080 Ti, and the graphics look horrible, with the advertisement abouve being an outright LIE. actully lets not forget that.

How about we talk about being forced to migrate to spawn on random island as a desperate attempt to sperate players so they could escape rubberbanding before starving. only to be stranded on an island with no trees, or no cotton and unable to build a raft with tortosies and back hair.

How about the lies about how big the world is. Sure its big, and 99% water with islands LITERALY copied and pasted multiple times in the SAME ZONE. What land IS there is so small that nearly no group of players will hold it long enough in order to build a ship. The ones that do will have it instantly stolen by a single player with a skill to steal ships. by skill i mean via a level up, not any sort of ability on the players part.

How do you build a pirate game, with the ocean taking up 99% of the play area, yet have the water have seams with its OWN RUBBER BANDING. as far as i can tell the wave have no bearing on the rocking of the ships.

Even in a low pop area, you will be fighting with the controlls as they will have full seconds of inactivity before responding to your commands. hopefully you didn't push the button multiple times.

Just play ARC if you have to, this game was not fully thought out and 99% of players will never leave the base tree hitting survival portion, let alone participate in a sea battle. Sea of Theives was a much better pirate game and that one didn't fare too was either.

The game itself is great, it's a hybrid of a standard mmo experience such as wow, and a single player TES game. The quests are quite a bit more fleshed out then the standard MMO fair, and there are more recurring characters, and they sometimes even recognise things you have done before. Another boon is the emphasis on exploration. where just roaming around is a treat. And it's gorgeous to boot!

skills are a lot more interchangeable outside your chosen class, and a character can be built around skills from weapons, armor, guilds, diseases, and what not and, to make off the wall builds.

In the past I had given this game a negative review due to problems with an update rendering the game unplayable, and the support team first pretended nothing was wrong. Once the complaints on reddit started to mount they blamed ISP's, and refused refunds. So while this tainted my view of the game for years it's not a direct fault of the game. I have since given the game another try and the problems have since been resolved and I can play without problem.
