Early Access Review
First of all, I want to say that I waited to post this until I put in a solid amount of hours into the game to review this. 181 hours at time of review and I have been playing for roughly a month. I spent a lot of time debating on whether to recommend this game or not, but ultimately I am going with no- based on my experience. Which, for a game I was passionate about becoming better and better, I do still hope it gets better in the future. I believe that feedback is a gift, and 'walking in through the front door' of your business or game as a new player is the best way to spot the stuff that needs improved as well as understanding the most compelling parts of a game so here goes:

Positives:
The overall look of the game for the graphics it has is great. Smooth textures and the passion in the artistry shows a lot. This made customization so great and was one of the things that drew me to the game for as long as it did.
Jutsus and combat is fun and also challenging at the same time. The jutsus are so fun and well-crafted I spent a lot of my time making multiple characters so I could test out and play with different masteries - best part of the game in my opinion, kudos.
Proficiency skills make this game a nice go-to game if you are looking to just relax and play and try to earn money (Ryo). CAUTION: You do still have to watch your back with mobs and other players jumping you while you try to get resources.
Constant updates are a plus to me. It shows that this game seems to still be in early access stages but the staff engages with the players and actively works to adjust and fix the game. It almost seems like there is an update almost every single day.

Negatives:

For me, the community is a negative overall. Over the course of this month I have found majorly 2 schools of players. Those bent on trying to jump and gank any player they come across no matter level or what they are doing, and those bent on trying to help any player they come across. I do understand it says hardcore MMO, but not being able to enjoy a game in peace while trying to level up without looking over your shoulder for player(s) trying to kill you everywhere is not enjoyable. Old players say it's just part of the game, and new players find it extremely frustrating. Most all just have told me 'sorry you had to go through that'. This made me have to do a great deal of my leveling late at night when less players are on because during the day it seemed almost impossible to get anything done outside of my village. This was further exacerbated by logging in recently at a mailbox next to my hospital spawn to get jumped by a player who said 'no mercy, its raid time' and when I told them they were what is wrong with the game, I was hunted down by multiple players, killed out of spawn again, and given a strike by the administration for bad behavior when I was the one getting jumped as soon as I logged. Not a great experience for me just trying to go about my business in a 'safe zone'. This was just one of many examples of spawn killing and abuse I received at this location, all because Sand Nin are despised by those who reside there. Not sure how that in-game drama applies to me when all I wanted to do was fish. I have had multiple people join me to play this game via Steam at about the same time and they have all quit because of this - I was the last one left. It looks like now I too will be stepping away for this same reason. The admin strike tore it for me.

Bug reporting is also kind of a hassle it seems. It flows through the discord with 'tickets'. I would hope this gets better in the future where players can just submit bug reports in-game. I found a bug with a mission in-game and even found the problem and potentially the fix. When I asked a GM about it, was just told to submit a ticket. I already had a ticket where I thought it was fixed and it turns out it wasn't, I asked to have the ticket re-opened so I didn't have to re-send screenshots and could just add in that this wasn't fixed and was just told to submit another one anyway. I really got the sense I was just bothering someone with bugs I wanted to help them resolve - but I do understand the part about having stuff submitted through proper channels.

Overall - TLDR:
Nin Online has a lot going for it. The art style is charming, customization is fun, and jutsus are an absolute highlight — varied, satisfying, and worth making multiple characters just to try them all. Gathering and crafting can be a relaxing change of pace, and the frequent updates show the devs are invested in the game’s future.

That said, the open PvP environment can be a double-edged sword. Some players go out of their way to help, but others attack on sight regardless of level or situation. It fits the “hardcore MMO” label, but for newer players it can feel punishing — to the point where I sometimes played late at night just to explore and progress without constant interruptions. A more balanced approach, or more endgame activities to keep higher-level players occupied, could really improve the experience for everyone.

When it’s good, Nin Online is a blast. But right now, the frustration outweighs the fun. I hope it gets more endgame content, reasons for villages to work together, and some quality-of-life fixes — because there’s a great game buried in here, waiting to shine. Props to Ueda for keeping the ship going and I wish this game well in the future.

P2W game P2W game P2W game P2W game P2W game P2W game P2W game .

If you love this game you have to be either a wallet warrior or buddies with players that win every single world every single time. If you like bullying sims, play this garbage.

Also the mobile app hurts my eyes. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

This game can get VERY sweaty at times, and I have to say I always LOATHE micro-transactions, but the game is playable without them and I do believe the creators do a pretty good job coming up with new, creative, and engaging content that the players like.
