Great story, great strategy gameplay, easy recommend

I'm just reviewing for the Steam Awards Nomination badge. After all, what more can I say that you haven't heard or read elsewhere?

This game is absolutely huge and a joy to play. It's easily my favorite XCOM-like and has way more ways to develop your characters. The worldbuilding is great too and has so far felt like a silver-age comic book in all the best ways. The English localization is iffy and can have characters sounding awkward, but you'll be able to understand the story regardless. It's the only flaw I have with the game and considering how big it clearly is, the immense quality of the gameplay systems, and the fact it's being sold for so cheap, it's a flaw that I can easily look past. Of all the games I've ever played, this is the one I feel I underpaid for the most. Its price is a steal even when it isn't on sale. I just can't wait to play more of it, because with only 10 hours played, I can tell I've only scratched the surface.

A fantastic, deep strategic game with a highly intriguing story underneath. While technically a card game, the actual gameplay feels closer to Into the Breach with additional items to account for on top. You have to plan every move around which enemy is attacking you with what card and if your units have enough speed to intercept attacks and change attack order. You'll learn to play the odds, work to exploit enemy weaknesses, protect your own, and work on inflicting status ailments as well. It takes awhile to learn and the game's biggest weakness is the minimal tutorials and information it barely covers. I ended up watching some Youtube videos to get a better idea of how to play and downloaded some mods to improve the UI.

I also played a few hours of Lobotomy Corporation and then watched Youtube to see the rest of its story mode and that definitely improves this game's experience (although I still think it could be interesting playing through this not having the context of LC and slowly gaining it as the plot develops).

The card game is a great mix of primarily MTG and Yugioh, the escape room elements are intriguing, and the mystery and tone are engrossing throughout. My personal GOTY for 2021.

Easily my favorite strategy game of all time.

What a "Games as a Service" actually should be. Continuously expanding across years, communicative with the community, and fair in economy and how it asks for money. Add on top a really fun shooting experience with fantastic maneuverability and you've got the only looter shooter I care about at all.

I have the platinum for this game on Vita and it is my favorite game of all time. Nuff said.
