It is a very charming automation game about making the most of the little space you have. The concept of recursive custom machines is a very fun one and reminds me of compact claustrophobia, a minecraft modpack I absolutely loved.

That said, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I haven't played a game this much anti-QoL. Like, wow!

It should be now mandatory for any game implementing an inventory system that
left click is pick up stack,
right click is pick half stack,
left click while holding stack is place stack,
right click with stack is place 1,
shift left click is transfert stack,
shift right click should transfert half.

This game uses left click to transfert 1 item, shift left click to transfert stack (good), ctrl left click to transfert half, right click is only used to open GUIs, because the game refuses to allow you to clear your hand of items. If you empty your selected item, the game will immediately select the one next to it. If that's the hammer, well yay, you're now breaking your items and need to replace em.

There's no interface to see how much of an item you're producing, so hope you got Excel nearby to manually note your production

Copy and pasting your settings from one puller to another doesn't exists, gotta set em manually for each and every one. Same for seed sifter, and the UI to set the seed is extremely infuriating, popping up over other machines that you want to configure, or hiding before you've selected the right seed. There is no indication of what seed is selected if you're not highlighting the machine.

The game calculates how much a compact machine will produce, it won't simulate it working, and in its calculations, it takes in account the fact that regular splitters do a 50 50 split (so if you chain 4 machines with splitters, 1st gets 50%, 2nd 25% and the 2 last get 12.5%), so and will reduce its efficiency if you don't actively work to balance the splits. This is a nice mechanic, WHICH IS EXPLAINED NOWHERE.

So, while I find the premise of this game extremely good, and at its price point, it's an absolute steal, the game raises my blood pressure so damn much that I can't recommend it to other players.

If you do play it, expect REALLY annoying jank and tedium. But, if you can survive said jank and tedium, it's a fun game.

Do you like fetch quests? Do you like NPCs that just tell you to go to the other end of the map, grab 2 thingamabobs, return to their end of the map, only to tell you to go right back there again to grab 1 thingiwingies and 2 whatsamagic? Then this game is for you. If not, steer clear.

Seeing who the publishers are, it's pretty obvious they're making a parody of fetch quests, but when your game is just a bunch of fetch quests, you're no longer making a parody.

If you do, nonetheless, decide to get this game (either because you're a masochist or want to encourage viva la dirt), do yourself a favor and do absolutely no exploring on your own. Smash through the story quests to get the different QoL upgrades before trying anything resembling personal exploration. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration (Or don't if frustration is what you're looking for)

Alright, so, this is one where "neutral" is sorely missing from Steam's review system.

I am having an absolute blast in this game so far. It's been a long time since I played a game and looked forward to getting back on it after work, and DD2 does that right now for me.

The pawn are smarter and will actively lead the way to things they know (if you give the go ahead). Ladders are to them what sticks are to overly excited dogs and that's pretty hilarious. They'll offer their environmental skills (levitate, shield spring) to help you reach far away chests.

The exploration is now absolutely wild. DD1 had "open world" but felt more like 1 main valley with a few side branches here and there. In DD2, the world is yours to explore for real. There's a mountain? Look around and there'll probably be a way to climb it for goodies. Caves are fun to explore, and have actual puzzles in them that require certain skills.

DD1's stat system (level up = you get flat stat points for the class you're in that stick even when you change vocation) is gone, now when you swap vocation, your stat points reallocate as if you played that vocation from the start. You played 100 lvl of warrior/fighter and want to play mage? Well, you now can, no need for a new game.

The bad though : No new game (for now), pretty bad performance in cities (for now). There's also MTX if you're offended by that, but I couldn't care less honestly, just don't buy it.

The good news about the bad stuff : it might get patched in a near future, so if you have a mid or lower PC, hold off on buying the game unless you want your CPU fan to go absolute bonkers. If "going offline -> Deleting your game save -> starting a new game" is unacceptable and you want to remake your character multiple times before you're content, hold off until "new game" is available.

This game is anime meets JRPG. Do you like anime? Do you like pretty involved and yet rewarding completionism hunting? Get this game.

Just one thing, be careful if you're thinking about streaming this game. There are no full blown nsfw moments, but the author definitely needs to take a cold show or two at times.

That said, I still 100% tell you to play this game. It's absolutely worth it.

Boring game solo, great game coop.

Takes some time getting used to the KB+M controls, but once you do, you'll 360 zombies everywhere, because the aiming is so much more fluid (makes me wonder how I ever finished the game on PS3 on professional)

Game goes on sale for 5$ CAD, get it then and play with a buddy for some silly campy fun times for just 10$

Also gameover QTEs can be disabled (any QTE that kills you when missed), which is a godsend.

Early Access Review
It's fun, but it was way way way more fun before. The devs will decide on how their game should be fun, and they will ignore what players will say.

If you try this game today for the first time, you'll enjoy it, it's a fun game to play. But if you play it for a few years and see what the devs add to (or more remove from) it, you'll likely become annoyed too.

If you do buy it, please do so on sale. You'll hate yourself for spending 40 usd on this

Hot damn, this game is good.

I got this game with humble bundle monthly. Finished it, then came back and bought it full price, because the devs deserve the full price.

It's humour is on point, the action is pretty good, the gags are hilarious, the story broke my heart.

This game is worth every penny, and even more.

The one thing I must say is that don't be afraid of moving forward with the story. Nothing can't be backtracked (unless after a very very very obvious message). Also, when you see goats, look up in the tree.

It's cheaper than nintendo's picross and has more puzzles, so it's pretty cool.
