One can so easily and unfairly judge this as merely another ♥♥♥♥-tier game that's merely exists to titillate the reader with erotic scenes, but what's been offered here is a chock-full of very distinct characters with their exploits, and their pursuit of their happiness.

Sure there are no player agency here, it's a kinetic visual novel, but one can just strap in and enjoy the roller coaster ride of emotions with the fantastic cast and their voice acting. Though it's unfortunate that the concept of Deus ex machina still lurks around and showing itself a couple of times.

If one is open-minded enough to not get bothered by the overt sexual themes of the plot and humor, I wholeheartedly recommend this

A literal masterpiece in subverting the reader's expectations, a collection of tales about tragedies on romance and later shows that love triumphs all.

Even though it's unvoiced, the sheer beauty of the background music to progressively set the mood and tone is simply sublime. The great illustrations of the character sprites shows a great contrast to the abstract visual background.

Even though you feel you have no love for romance stories, the sheer depth in the writing and the characters show that not all romance stories are cheesy and one-trick ponies. There are no higher praise for this work, and I recommend everyone who's willing to read to get swallowed into the tales within the House.

Recommended if you are still pining for more Muv Luv content after the original trilogy.

It does has plenty of moments, but personally I feel that the later half towards the ending feels quite unsatisfactory and doesn't tie a lot of loose ends well.

A fantastic Visual Novel which you as the reader follow multiple characters' timeline and route (akin to 13 Sentinels) and witness how each of them intertwine with each other in the most uncanny manner. The story also served as the base of the anime Canaan afaik.

This is despite having a couple of drawbacks for me, including the severe lack of fast-forward / skip read lines features, especially when this game encourages you to experiment which requires a lot of back-tracking and having to trudge through old lines can make it really really tedious.

Not having the option to speed up the text speed can be a drag as well.

If you loved the first game The Citadel, there's so much more to love in this sequel!

Unique gunplay with the manual load/unload/cocking of the weapon (which can be toggled to simplified), with anime guro aesthetics and bleak world graphics. Story is like from a top of a line chuunibyou.

Very varied level designs throughout the game, a must play if you feel nostalgic of shooter games back in the old days

This title contains the first two titles of the Muv Luv trilogy,

I've decided to give this series a shot right after following the masses' recommendation of Steins;Gate, and this series is also among the mentioned as well.

The first title is totally vanilla in the typical school romance setting, almost to the point of being comical for being as stereotypical as possible. What I'm not prepared that this is all a ruse, to provide an elaborate backstory and exposé for each of the cast.

The second title thus changed the setting and premise, but still utilised the same cast of characters and started to show some of the more intricate plot lines.

And in the third title, Muv Luv Alternative, is where the massive payout is given for readers who have invested enough in the story, with the story length of potentially some magnitudes bigger than the second, given that I've yet to even finish it.

Go blind, and endure the tropes if it isn;t exactly your cup of tea. But anyone who wants to be properly wow'ed by the sheer scale and complexity in this properly camouflaged sci-fi masterpiece should give this a go

This game single-handedly made me create notebooks and databases to keep track of all the different items, locations, recipe and etc. to solve this heck of a game.

A puzzle, resource-management, librarian-simulator rolled all in one, in this game revolving all about symbols.
