I bought it to make cool swords, because swords are cool.

Then there was a story. Like, a really, really GOOD story. And it keeps getting better, and branching, and twisting.

I'm hooked. Better smithing AND story than KCD2.

It's Melvor with a few things streamlined. It's also pretty P2W since you can sell store items for gold and then just buy the best (or best-for-your-level) items. So... Ehh. Recommended if you liked Melvor (though v2 of that game is right around the corner in 2026, apparently). Not recommended if you're a sucker for microtransactions like me.

I'm probably 50% of the way through Dragon Quest 1, and as someone who loved this game as a kid on the NES, I'd say it's faithful to the spirit of the original, while also adding some new twists and turns. The additional cutscenes, while long-winded and rather poorly-paced, add some welcome backstory and lore to what was, by necessity, a sparse experience in the original. I've enjoyed the new enemies and such as well. About my only REAL gripe is how on-rails the game has felt in stark contrast to the freedom of the original. There's a lot of the old skips and tricks you just can't do anymore, which is disappointing.

In short, I'd recommend it for nostalgia's sake alone, but expect more of a themepark than a true 1:1 reproduction of the original.

Best game since Skyrim? Perhaps! I'm waiting on the mod scene to really kick off and mature, but so far it's pretty great.

Once I got it to not crash (Windows 8 Compatibility mode ftw), I've been having a blast. The atmosphere is astonishingly good. It's a gorgeous game with a fun story, and the gameplay isn't TOO challenging, at least for me. Do recommend, just make sure to put the executable in win8 compatibility mode.

ZOMG Best Game Evar. Punched a shark in the face and got mauled, then a neckbeard sold me a gun to shoot it with. 10/10 would defy the BATFE again.

If you remember Freelancer with anything like fondness and nostalgia, this is a game to buy. I haven't gotten to the endgame, of course, since it's only been out for a day, but the gameplay loop is almost perfectly centered on the old Freelancer feel.

If Fable were re-made as a Hogwarts game, with a really competent, motivated dev team and a lot of money backing it, this is what you'd end up with. It has that same whimsical FEEL to it. Loving it so far, highly recommend.

So I figured if people with Thalassophobia can play Subnautica, I can play this with Arachnophobia.

I admit, I turned the spiders into blobs after my first encounter with a wolf spider, and I STILL get the creepy-crawlies from the spiderlings. Ugh.

10/10 would have nightmares again.

Best MMO I've played in years. 10/10.

Bad: Very few actual ingame glitches despite the instability in the servers at launch. Small lag spikes here and there, but nothing that significantly detracted from the experience. Story is KPop silliness, voice acting is borderline High School Musical and there are a LOT of activities, currencies and such at endgame to try and keep track of.

Good: Most of those things above, plus impactful combat and a deep skill and mod system that lets you customize your character to a good extent. Wonderful visuals, better than a lot of AAA MMOs on the market. The dungeon design and experiences are out-of-this-world, best I've experienced in an MMO full-stop with zero doubt in my mind. I cannot remember EVER being this blown away by dungeon puzzles and boss mechanics. The closest I can think of would be the mechanics of GuildWars2 bosses with puzzle work from Skyrim, all in an isometric view that cuts to in-engine cinematics frequently enough to wow you but not so often that it's annoying. Just brilliant work.
