A fun little shooter, beat the game finding all extra stages on the "standard" hard mode in just about 8 hours.

There are options to further increase the game difficulty to ludicrous levels if you want, I might do a playthrough later with all those difficulty options maxed.

To anyone not well experienced with shooters, the player will die very quickly if you're caught just standing still, and many later levels have large open areas where bullets come at you from all sides. Definitely not a beginner friendly game.

Cute and comedic story, with a side of tearjerk.

For the difficulty: Chapter 1 is definitely the hardest period of the game so far (currently nearing the end(?) of Chapter 3). Once crafting stat boosting items and upgrading your weapon is unlocked, the game essentially becomes a visual novel with moments of combat.

A great game only tangentially related to Gal Gun. If it weren't for the voiced dialogue during the plant boss or the silliness with collecting panties later on, it would be great for all audiences.

Many reviews and forum posts talk about this game like it's a Metroidvania, but it would be better to compare it to something like Super Castlevania instead. Linear (but branching) paths, tough boss fights, and a focus on subweapon use.

An incremental game that kinda sucks at the "incremental" portion of the game. The pacing is all over the place.

Sometimes the pacing is just right, but most of the time you will be slogging through several minutes of gameplay just to get +5% extra damage to an ability that is 0.1% of your total damage.

You might think that you should just ignore that line of upgrades, but the upgrade tree structure hides future upgrades. You must waste time getting these upgrades just on the off chance that it reveals something useful.

I still recommend the game as mindless fun later on, but it is not without major flaws.

I haven't played in a year, I tried to get back into it after seeing the expansion news but its just popup after popup. I can't find a damn thing on the UI, like how to reset my progress back to the tutorial so I can relearn the damn thing, but I got way too frustrated with all the popups and moving UI elements that I decided to uninstall after 5 minutes.

Clean up the UI, let me play the tutorial / reset progress since I haven't played in a year, and for god's sake turn down the pop ups because this is worse than mobile gacha games.

As someone who purchased this game on the premise that there would be BE fetish content, I came out of this experience disappointed. Outside of vague textual descriptions of size there are only two sets of sizes for each of the girls. The BE content also has very little impact on the story (outside of giving a reason for the girls to have skimpy suits when time traveling), and could easily be removed completely from the game with little impact on plot.

The story itself: a fair bit underwhelming, with the main climax of the game (and the only impactful decision to make in this game) making no sense if you think about it for too long. The romance portion of the plot also feels very lacking for me, as it's just the MC having a pity party about losing his parents and the girls trying to console him.

Final verdict: Will probably never play the sequel.

Picked it up for $0.75, it's probably not worth $2.00.

There's only 5 CGs, 4 costumes for each girl. Upon ripping the game files I found out that each of the 3 unlockable costumes are actually a shared model between all the girls.

As far as gameplay, it starts out way too easy, and then there's a switch that flips and then its way too hard. You often can't plan out moves in advance because stone blocks can randomly form on top of a chain that you were about to make, and many enemies can also spawn even more junk that gets in the way.

Final verdict: Eh? Most of my hours spent were trying to unlock the CG the normal way, but you unlock one at the start and then nothing until the very end of the game.

Why does this game even have dialogue "options"? I don't know how other SAO games are, but the role-playing aspect of this RPG is a total mockery of main characters. The devs wanted to tell a very specific story, like a normal JRPG, but then were like "ooh but these western RPGs are all about being the character you want to be, so lets do that too".

In the end, it amounts to tons of pointless dialogue options. Choosing between saying "Yes" and "Ok" got so irritating 30 minutes in that I just started skipping dialogue. The gameplay is serviceable, but your every-hero generic bland MC, who seems to have no character motivation or development, taints the whole experience.

If I had to recommend this game just based on gameplay, I would have. As a complete experience however: the exceedingly long tutorial, the terrible MC, the plot with no driving motivation for at least several hours, and more, mean that I could not recommend this game generally.
