Optimization has gotten leagues better than it was a almost year ago, which means I can finally in good faith make this a positive review. Hoping it stays this this way or continues to improve as we move into the expansion in the future.

The game is definitely fun, whereas a lot of my issues come from the various end-game RNG elements in addition to some weapons not holding up as well compared to a few obvious favorites.

For any new player looking to get into the franchise, I would still recommend World or Rise as an introduction to Monster Hunter combat, as the Focus Mode in Wilds is extremely unique to this game and completely changes how combat plays out in regards to movesets, camera movement, and player positioning. Wilds does make for a great boss-fight action game, which while different than most of the Monster Hunter series leading up to this point, holds merit and can be extremely fun.

I think if anyone is looking to just download a game and thrash oversized monsters with oversized weapons, MH Wilds is what you're looking for!
