An adorable action adventure romp! The art is charming, OST is fantastic, and combat feels solid! It's a bit short, and the story is simple but that's not necessarily a bad thing at all. It's clearly inspired by the legend of Zelda series, and like Zelda it rewards curiosity and the difficulty isn't too punishing. I did encounter a few bugs, but I've been posting about them on my other account in the discussion forums and the dev has been extremely diligent about responding and looking into potential game breaking glitches (but notably happy to leave exploits alone for future speedrunners!) Overall this was WELL worth the price tag. I went for 100% completion (ignore my playtime, I share my library with my household and played this on my partner's account, total playtime is somewhere around 30hr) and had a great time getting there.

I should say right at the top that provided voice work for this game - but I am also an avid fan of visual novels, and high fantasy. The Hayseed Knight checks both of those boxes let me tell you. The world is RICH with lore, the characters complex, and I've rarely had the honour to be part of such a talented voice cast. The art is so unique and colourful, I could go on and on... seriously.

The story is not complete as of yet, so I would warn that there are things that remain unclear by chapter 3's end (for now)

And while it is a visual novel it isn't a dating sim visual novel - so I should warn that if that is what you're looking for you won't find that here. It IS a romance, but not that sort.

Otherwise, I could not recommend this story enough. It was a pleasure to be a part of, and an even bigger pleasure to experience the finished chapters. Cannot wait to see where it goes!
