Caves of Qud is a punishing game. every step, or interaction could be your last. and some deaths, nothing can prepare you for.

but its also incredibly deep. between character classes an abilities you can build anything from a 4 armed gunslinger, to a frail psionic terror. fight a horde of Snap jaws in bullet time, or transfer your consciousness to a goat.

there are questlines to follow, but the magic is in the emergent stories you make along the way.

experience in nethack, rogue, or even cdda goes a long way.
