Slime Rancher

Slime Rancher was an absolute delight to play through. It is fun, quirky, and family friendly.
The game follows Beatrix LeBeau, a young rancher who sets off to fulfill her ranching dreams of wrangling slimes far off from Earth. What could be cuter than wrangling slimes?

The story is straight forward and easy to understand. You progress by discovering new areas, building up the ranch, finding hidden notes from those who came before, and collecting all the different kinds of slimes you can find along the way. The unique graphical style lends itself well to the atmosphere and story they are creating, and the slimes are downright adorable. The audio ties everything together, from happy background music to the sounds of slimes bouncing across the screen, even the ominous sounds of tarr approaching.

You will unlock new gadgets and tools as your progress, so there is never anything that feels overwhelming. The game is almost perfectly paced to allow you to explore at your leisure and enjoy its relaxing yet fun world. It’s situated ideally within the world of goofy, adventurous, and creative games. It’s a simple enough premise, but I don’t think there’s another game out there quite like Slime Rancher.

Do I recommend this game?? Absolutely.

"While force-feeding slimes their own effluence has its benefits — the hybrid ‘largo’ slimes will squeeze out two plorts for the price of one come feeding time — it can’t be left unchecked. Throw a third, foreign plort into the mix and the largo morphs into an all-consuming tar monster that won't stop eating until it's devoured your entire ranch, proving that even slimes can only take so much ♥♥♥♥ before they finally snap."
