It's October 1st, 2013. You just got home from school and immediately get on your console to play GTA V, the same as you have for the past 2 weeks. Today is different though. Today is the release of GTA Online that you and your friends have been talking about nonstop since the game launched, and it's finally out. You log on, create your character and walk off that plane into Los Santos. You do your intro missions, start to walk around a bit, and then you're met with a black screen. "Unable to contact Rockstar servers". Soul shattered. Hopes crushed. You would have to wait even longer for them to fix GTA Online before you can play it.

Twelve years, two console generations, friends gained, friends lost, what feels like an entire lifetime gone by and here you are, 2025. Rockstar just released GTA V Enhanced. Upgraded graphics. Newest generation features. Hell, it even has ray tracing? Alright sure, why not, lets give it a go. Maybe the game has been a nonstop staple this entire time, or maybe it's been more like a comfort food. Something you don't have all the time but occasionally go back to, and it's always a fun time. So you download the game, and go to bring over your old save with all your old cars, guns, money, etc. Things you painstakingly spent the last 12 years of your life earning in game. Then when it goes to transfer your character, you're met with a "The GTA Online profile associated with this Rockstar Games account is not eligible for migration at this time".

Rockstar in their almighty wisdom has decided to block accounts from transferring their characters if they have "ill gotten gains". GTA Online has run rampant with hackers for years now. Rockstar essentially abandoned it and let them roam free because it was too much work for them. If you played GTA Online for any amount of time, a hacker will have dropped you money at some point. Money that deems your account too filthy too exist in Rockstars graphically updated utopia.

So here we are. 12 years later. Your character exists solely in an outdated format.

In what can only be considered some cruel twist of fate or irony, your journey ended the way it started. With a black screen telling you that you're not allowed to play the game.

Last year I played the entirety of the Like a Dragon series one after another with short breaks in between. I got to see some newer titles, and some titles that showed their age (looking at you Yakuza 3). This is the first game in the series though that I'm actually playing at release and oooh boy is it good. It's another Gaiden game so it's definitely shorter, just like The man who erased his name, but the story is absolute gold and so is the gameplay.

The combo heavy combat is a fun direction for the latest entry, which lends itself to Majima very well. My only complaint is that it's often way too easy. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty setting "Professional" which says you need to essentially be locked in but that really doesn't feel like the case. Most melee combat can just be a repetitive "dodge behind enemy and hit them in the back a few times". But then again a lot of the games are kind of like that. It's more fun to actually pull off some combos using all the tools the game gives you. The game has a ring system that increases your attack as well as the normal attack upgrades that I honestly wouldn't recommend going past the 2nd tier of if you want the game to still be kind of hard.

I still have yet to finish the story, and I haven't gotten to any big emotional story beats yet, but god I know they're coming and i'm not sure i'm ready. Otherwise it's just outright fun. RGG studios made yet another banger and I can't wait for project century.

This game has nonstop been a staple of mine since I first played it. I never really understood how power washing could be as satisfying as this game makes it to be. Plus the devs are absolutely amazing and constantly dish out more and more content on the regular. Some free, and some paid which are usually collabs with other IPs.

My reviews flipped back and forth so many times for Helldivers but at this point we're safe to go back to recommended. They've put effort into making the game fun to play and actually wanting to play it. New content comes out plenty that there's always new toys to play with and you don't even have to spend money each time when you can just farm credits in game.

Spent $105 on the founders edition when it came out as I had faith this could be a good product. It didn't take long for the player base to dwindle unfortunately, at which point they made the decision to pull the online aspects of the game, under guise of it being in "beta", and proceeded to put it back in development for an additional year, leaving us with only a single player mode. Well here we are, a year later and the game is back, but a shell of it's former self.

I could have downloaded Clash of Clans on my phone and had less popups than whatever this is. There's a million menus in game where you can claim your "quests" for XP and minimal rewards. Playing the game itself isn't enough to actually progress your Battlepass anymore as you don't get XP for match completion. The Rift mode has lives, which when you run out can only be recharged over time or with the premium currency. Skins can cost upwards of $100-200 for the "Prestige" ones.

I really do think this is a case of devs who care about their game, but corporate greed overshadowing that and forcing them to wedge a million microtransactions into a game where they don't belong. Warner Brothers is the same company that made Batgirl, Scoob! Holiday Haunt, and Coyote v. Acme, for the sole purpose of scrapping them for a tax write off.

The live service bubble is dangerously close to popping because it's so inundated with garbage now, and when it does Multiversus will surely be the first to go once it's deemed no longer profitable to WB.

If you enjoy any of the soulslike games you'll probably enjoy this. Really interesting adaptation of Pinocchio, with a decent weapon system and cool arm abilities makes for a fun game. I don't think it particularly does one thing better than any of the other games, but if you're looking to scratch that souls itch then this is a good option.

It could've been good, but boy, it sure wasn't. 5 months post release and we've barely received any new content aside from a few heists (half of them are just ported Payday 2 heists), and some new lackluster weapons to add to a sparse arsenal. I would like to believe that Payday 3 has the capability to eventually be a good game but unfortunately it's far too little, far too late. The game boasts a whopping 291 average players for the month of February. It's only a matter of time until the game becomes abandon-ware. If you're looking for a fun game to play with friends please consider something like Deep Rock Galactic or Helldivers 2 instead.

God do I love this game. I really enjoyed playing Jet Set Radio as a kid and this truly lives up to the name. Story was killer and the soundtrack is absolutely top tier. Can't recommend this enough.

Shout out to Activision Blizzard for taking a previous GOTY winner and turning it into a burning pile of garbage riddled with egregiously priced microtransactions. $20 for a skin that I don't even get to see while i'm playing? No thanks.

Game does some things right, and a lot of things wrong. Take it at face value and accept that this is not an Arkham game. You'll have a much better time that way. Otherwise the story is pretty fun, each character has their own playstyle so the combat doesn't get too bland. It's worth a playthrough but after that it's pretty much an immediate uninstall. Would recommend getting it on sale.
