I have played this game for a good bit of time now. I don't write review often but I believe an honest review is needed with all the negative ones that are being spammed.
First of all I think this game is incredibly gorgeous. Considering this is a spinoff of Elden ring, this is no surprise. I do believe some optimisations are in place, though I’m sure the few crashes that people have experienced (that aren’t on decades old hardware) will be patched out relatively soon. Nevertheless the devs had the incredible foresight to incorporate a reconnecting system for encase you disconnect for whatever the reason may be.

Second, the combat is smooth, fast passed and incredibly fun! The only con I have with the combat is that lock-on can be a bit wonky from time to time. Otherwise there is incredibly fun rune loadout building for optimisation against bosses. These is tons of cool drops and upgrades from bosses and plenty of reason to explore the map and optimise your gameplay.

Third, the classes are really cool and unique. The abilities these classes have seem to have had a lot of thought put into it. They are cool and feel good to use. There is something here for everyone I feel. Some adjustments could be used to bring a few classes up, but this could honestly just be a skill issue and perhaps their skill ceiling has yet to be tapped into much.

Fourth, The moment to moment gameplay is addicting! The game plays smooth and you’re always running around, trying to optimise your run to gain as many runes (souls), gear and buffs as possible. It is incredibly fun to build up to these final night lord bosses this way. There is for sure a learning curve, but I honestly believe this is one of the more forgiving titles they have brought out. (I don’t think this is a bad thing, but I’ve seen a lot of people complaining it’s too hard. I disagree hard, and I’m not a good player myself)
Lastly to add, a lot of people have had concerns with regards to playing solo or duo without needing to matchmake. They have stated they will be releasing this soon, and I even believe they just brought out, or are about to bring out, the proper duo queue. They’re working on optimising these experiences, and this sound not be a dealbreaker. It’s the first week after launch after all. I believe it’s also a good thing to note that the game is surprisingly affordable. Especially in the current landscape of new games being 80 euros. 40 euro for this gem is honestly a bargain in my honest opinion, and it’s even better that you can play it with friends! I’d love to see a proper voice chat added, but I’ve already made tons of friends by simply adding people after runs!

tldr: So far I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game. It has been a blast and I can’t wait every day to get on and play more. I can’t wait to see some of the DLC they plan to add later in the year, or the modifiers they’re planning on the bosses. I’ve started seeing some really cool map variations pop up as well as of today!

If you’re on the fence, I believe wholeheartedly, that it is worth every penny, and I'm extremely glad to be able to experience this amazing game with so many great people and friends!

Ignore the sever comments. This game is awesome and the devs didnt anticipate the hype. Within two days they added new servers and the stability is improving daily. The devs are awesome, the game is awesome, get to liberating and spread some sweet liberty across the many systems!

A game that does not hold back, and I love every second of it!
