It's neat but the visual effects are disorienting and make me feel physically ill, even with the "CRT" filter turned off.

A lot of very tedious busywork that is neither idle nor involves the tower defence mode. The subsystems and minigames were kinda neat at first, but then I realized that the majority of the game is slogging through their tedium which requires you to actively engage with it.
Like the passive resource generation is -all- not tower defence, and without it even the early tiers are a horrible slog with little sense of progress. With it it still kinda takes too long too.

The factory crafting is just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying, because even the advanced 2nd floor stuff doesn't intuitively autocraft how you'd think -and- you need to hand make every component in bulk to be able to... bulk produce it in a non-tedious way.

The experiments are kinda neat conceptually I guess, but they just don't seem worth the reward.

There's the in-game scripting tool, which is neat I guess. It's kind of easier to use than AHK. But why do I want to even engage with the game enough to figure out what I need to code the script to do? I have to do all this overly complex, high effort, low reward crap in order to keep doing the thing I want, which is have an idle tower defence to mess around with when I'm doing other things. Not a tedium simulator that wants me to code (or use someone else's broken scripts) to automate it.

Updated: After additional 170ish hours, first completion
tl;dr - Game got massively improved, is engaging story and characters, fun, easy to trivialize combat in the last third of the game, some annoying bugs still but no longer progress and experience breaking

After the several updates this game is in a significantly better state. I really enjoy the reworked writing and systems. The game is beatable, in coop even, without using mods to fix quests. I had a lot of fun with the character building and story. So many times I'd see the consequences of an action I made 5+ hours prior and be excited because it made sense. I loved the colony plotlines for this reason.

I think it's still too easy to break the mechanics of the game and trivialize combat encounters. Early in act 4 my party was clearing entire encounters after my second character got to act, usually before even one of the enemy got a turn to do anything. This is post officer extra turn nerf on the highest difficulty setting. Didn't matter what builds either really, warrior/arch-militant dual wield melee, warrior/assassin 2h melee, soldier/master tactician heavy gunner, operative/bounty hunter plasma gunner, operative/grand strategist psyker. No re-specs, building as I went so not super optimised either.
It at least was still engaging enough that it didn't feel like a slog (doing 8k damage in a single autopistol burst to the final boss nearly killed me laughing), but I'm not enthusiastic about doing my second playthough until the DLC is out since the joy of discovery wont be there to get me through the 50th "load screen into system > load screen into planet scan > load screen into location > 5 minutes looting > slaughter enemies before they can react > load screen out > load screen out again > repeat".
I wish there were more encounters that were the storybook style text choices only to determine the outcome thing that show up far too infrequently.

Act 4 and 5 are still pretty buggy in general too,it gets way more noticable the closer you get to the end. Abilities that worked fine stop functioning right (melee and pistol character just never getting the option to shoot his pistol in any combat during the entire final area because it was greyed out and unselectable, characters getting turns with 0 mp and ap, coop desyncs on every level up, freezing that starts after an hour and gets worse as the game keeps running only going away on closing and relaunching, etc), but it's not progress halting anymore

I so badly want to like this game, but there are so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ issues
I've been playing 40k in various forms for almost 30 years and I love the setting

This game feels like it was originally meant to be an inquisitor game and changed late to be rogue trader

So many systems don't work right, so many abilities are bugged, so many quests are bugged, void combat is a slog and feels disconnected from the rest of the game systems

I can tolerate a lot, but the game failing to register I have manually saved, both via the menu and quicksaving, is the last ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ straw after getting party wiped from a bugged enemy mechanic and losing 6 hours of progress

Owlcat does it again

Absolutely amazing. Supergiant continues to impress me.
I love that this is a roguelike which actually makes dying meaningful as something other than merely a lose condition to be avoided.

3rd person shooter roguelike, with active, responsive devs. It's great fun!
Especially when you have moments of sheer, extended terror due to being the last person on your team alive, fleeing from enemies as you desperately try to kill the boss with your dead teammates shrieking in the background with every millimeters close miss that you don't have the time to pay attention to!

Whether you win or lose, the aftermath of those moments is still monumentally enjoyable. Either reveling in victory or laughing in defeat.

I don't like Vermintide or Left 4 Dead all that much, specifically because they have static maps. They're puzzles that have, more or less, one solution.
PvP is also, not my thing.

I love DRG though, objective based co-op shooter with procedurally generated levels that are fully deestructible? Yes. Wide variety of enemies with destructible armor? Awesome. Mobility beyond "left shift to sprint or abuse the physics engine"? Perfect!
The dev team is very in tune with the playerbase's desires and very hard working as well. They've come such a long way from the beginning, and it's been wonderful to see how with every iteration, the game has only gotten better.

Been playing MH titles on handhelds as long as they've been on handhelds. They were fun, but I always felt like half of the fight was against the monster, and the other half against the limitations of controlling everything with a DS/PSP.

MH:W has solved that issue for me very nicely. The keyboard & mouse control scheme works very well. It's great fun to be able to flip around, aim and fire a shot from your slinger, then turn and keep running.

I know some people are having connection issues, as some people in my friend group get constant disconnects depending on who's lobby it is. Personally I've never had connection problems, so I'm not sure as to what's causing it, since it doesn't appear to be consistent.

Also never had any performance issues, it gives me a stable 60+ fps on my gtx 1060, 16 gb ram. Though I only run it at 1920x1080.
