If you liked Subnautica (the "first" one) you will like this too.
Story is good 7/10
- Nothing too mind blowing, same planet as in the Subnautica. So i suggest to play that first, as there is some dialogue/story pointing things from that game. However not necessary as this has its own story and you wont really miss anything if you don't know what happens in the "first" game.

- Story is driven by your exploration and exploration is driven by story, if you don't know what to do, read/listen to story logs to get idea where to go and what to do.

Gameplay/mechanics are ok 6/10,
- Some minor bugs here and there. Especially if you run to something, so some collisions and movement might cause problems. Entering/leaving vehicles in some dumb places might get you out of bounds etc. But generally these happen if you try to "break" the game.

- I played on survival, so food and water was kept in inventory all the time. Not really a problem after first base and some preparing. Turned to be more of a nuisance after some time.
Freezing was not a problem for me, maybe too much time in the Prawn suit...

Visuals and atmosphere are good 8/10,
- Beautiful sea to explore, not much above water. But some cool places and stuff also there. Music adds really much to the general feel, and also the sounds of the creatures around you.

In summary:
- Pretty much same stuff as in Subnautica, but in different place/enviroment with some new vehicles.
- New area,creatures,story and vehicles
- Pretty much same mechanics as in Subnautica

If you like to explore and find cool story/mystery to solve, you should try this game. It is not long storywise ~25 hours, but if you like to build base etc it can go over 40 hours easily.

After just 222 hours i can say it could use at least 4x more details, luckily mods help somewhat.
After the new update i need to play some more. And test if it has any more details.

As i am writing this, i have not completed the game or any DLC.

Pretty much same as previous Metro games and some more. This one has some "open world" levels, where you can explore. Which is nice, as this gives you better gear and you can find lore about the level/world.

Minus/"bad stuff":
- Gameplay/movement is bit stiff at times, and running downhill might "bumb" you to death,
- Some invisible walls and slopes (these are there for a reason, but sometimes you can go where you should not have)
- Forced cutscenes with sometimes a bit stiff animations and/or not so seamless transitions between gameplay and animations. Still not horrible in any way. But these break immersion time to time
- Sudden crashes to desktop (seems to have been when loading new areas?)
- Save file corruptions (not sure why)
- Game breaking bugs/softlock (some of these are still not patched...)

Plus/"good stuff"
- Storytelling and story itself are good (in my opinion), plot itself is predictable. But still good story
- World/lore telling with notes and surroundings are great
- Some key characters tell their stories, and it's nice pace changer (and that is not forced to you!)
- Some new weapons (and those are lore friendly and cool)
- Human AI is pretty good, some minor pathfinding/running issues in some places
- Beast/Animal AI good, each mosnter/enemy has their own movement/attack styles. You need to learn how to face them.
- How world feels and sounds, there is some places where you don't really want to go but have to. And those places feel and sound really "real". --> Level design is great (at key places at least)

Engineering and optimization... a lot of that. Also awesome mods and tutorials for those who seek to improve and try something new.

You can easily spent a "bit" more time optimizing something with spagetti/temporary solutions until it is core function in your base. After all the hard work, you find another bottleneck to fix and optimize. So game this has perfect game loop.

Early Access Review
Still in a WIP game, but so far really fun with friends. I see a lot of potential for this kind of game.

Pretty nice game, has some issues and toxic players. But fun with friends and if you don't take the game too seriously.

This game is great! You can: barrel roll with a tank, a plane, a person, a car etc. And you can be killed by AI with a pistol from 1 km AND so much more.

By this game, and all the DLC. Just because you can
