Initial review:

This game has a lot of potential. There are many things I would like to see in further development stages:

1. Larger flocks. When playing I would see 1-2 ducks together. In real life this does happen, but for most species you can see them in flocks of 3-4 to hundreds at a time.

2. Balance between sim and arcade. A true hunting is tough, as like another reviewer pointed out, we lack important senses in game compared to real life. A wind indicator, compass, and a map would be beneficial to quality of play in my opinion. I spent a good 18 minutes running in a field with no water around me, I was simply lost.

3. Less insects overall. Some bugs is fine but when there’s constantly a bug flying in your field of view, you get fooled thinking it’s a duck quite often.

4. Boat mechanics. The canoe tracks worse than an inflatable kayak without the skeg. Have W and S control speed, and where you are looking with the mouse control turning I think would be a benefit

Wishlist additions:

Maps based on different areas. Have different species depending on the map you are playing. For example just in North America you could have the different flyways represented with different species. American wigeon dominating the pacific flyway along with lesser and cackling geese, pintail, and all 3 North American teal species. Central could consist of mallard, pintail, gadwall, snow and speckle belly geese, Mississippi with more wood duck and mallard, etc.

Full season mode: where you actually own the property. You are in charge of pre season scouting, planting crops for food, flooding certain fields, building permanent blinds, stuff like that.

Different styles of hunting, I would like to see flooded fields, flooded timber, dry fields, sea duck hunting out of layout boats.

Different decoys with different attraction values. Spinning wing decoys, water motion decoys, jerk rigs

What a game. This is like if you combined Steep and PUBG, if PUBG was good. The helicopter thing is cool, so if you're solo you battle it out till you're last 4, then boom, all on the chopper. the MPX is a beast. Great time to kill, great servers, amazing hit reg and netcode.

10/10 would return PUBG if possible

there were samurai refugees in the land of vikings. They performed blackface and pillaged the towns. America does not want that in our country. very sad!

Pros
-Amazing scenery, graphics
-Dinosaur AI is fantastic (Raptors hunt you down in packs)
-Not too hard to find weapons
-Giant Map
-Has some player customisation

Cons
-Buggy (first day in early access, will get better)
-only 3 types of dinos (will get more)
-only a few guns(will get more)

All in all, i would recommend this game. While there are some bugs, It's very playable. While the dinosaurs are pretty hard to kill, that's to be expected, considering the skin of one is almost an inch thick, plus the bones are thick as well.
It's possible to kill the UtahRaptor with just one arrow (through one lung even).
I would rate this game a 6/10 at this stage, considering it's its first day. I expect many updates from the Dev team, and this game to get much better.

In this review, I am going to list the pros and the cons of this game. I know it is hard to change the minds of people who do not like the game, but i will try.

Pros:
Of course there are 18 different species to hunt, 19 with the incoming caribou!
Active development team. They have status updates weekly to keep you informed, and even some surprises as well. this week we got camo face paint!
It's the only up to date hunting sim out there, last one was probably deer hunter 05.
Beautiful scenery! This game is powered by the same engine that Just Cause, and Just Cause 2 runs on.
Realism. It isn't neccasarily 100% realistic, but it's the most realistic hunting game i've played

Cons:
While this game is free to play to a certain extent for free, you will probably have to pay at some point, but a 3 month membership, plus a shotgun, revolver, camo cap, caller, and a few other things is 15 dollars for 3 months. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than elder scrolls online, which has you pay 60 dollars outright, and then 15 dollars a month. For 3 months, $105 usd.
Expensive. This game can get expensive, but, if you're a minimalist, unlike me, you can get a 6 month membership for 32 dollars, and that includes license for all species, access to all reserves, unlimited basic ammo, as well as a .44 revolver, 12 ga pump action shotgun(you can shoot anything with it), .357 revolver, compound bow "snakebite". That's four weapons. along with those you get camping supplies, which is used to travel to campsites or tents, 3-9X40mm rifle scope, wind indicator, 2x20mm handgun scope, boone & crockett cap, basic pants, Backpack, which doubles your inventory space, turkey box caller, basic jacket, and a tent, which you can use to set up a alternate spawn in point.
Most missions, at some point require you to buy a specific weapon, which is kinda bogus but oh well.

Other than that, i have no complaints about this game. The game is beautiful, addicting, and fun as hell. I've been playing for 3 months, and i will definitely get a membership extension.

You pay 15 bucks for three months to hunt everything, and if you get tired of it, you dont have to keep paying. You pay 60 bucks for call of duty, you get bored of it, you take it to gamestop and sell it for a couple bucks.

Expansive Worlds has to make money, and this game is aimed toward a very small group of gamers. This is their namesake, so they have to be able to live somehow. free to play is a bit iffy, and if they put a disclaimer saying that not everything is free from the start, people wouldn't jump in, expecting it, and then getting pissed.

TL;DR It's a great game, 15 bucks for 3 month membership plus a couple guns and other stuff, 32 for 4 weapons, plus a ton of other ♥♥♥♥, its aimed toward a small group of gamers, they have to make money somehow. ESO is 105 bucks for 3 months. compare.
