The game frequently becomes "unstable" and thus, unplayable. It's not due to lack of resources on my machine, 32GB RAM, 16GB VRAM. This issue is prevalent and common to several players, it's not just a fluke or bad hardware on my end.

Love the game, but if you can't advance on a game, what's the point? It happens in the campaign, which is a major problem for me. If it was just on a random/custom game, I could live with that, and just play a different one. But if you can't advance even on the campaign, it's a huge buzz kill.

If you decide to buy the game, keep that in mind.

One of my all time favorites, bought this after playing it during the 90's, when the franchise was revived by Firaxis. For anyone wanting to play this, get the OpenXcom version too, which is a free and open source project since it has many QoL improvements over the original and it is moddable. You still require content files which exist in this release (or any release from any other source) in order for OpenXcom to work.

Better than Frungy!

There's nothing to say about this other than being one of the biggest retro gaming classics and one of the best games I have ever played. A wealthy mix between ship to ship combat, ship building and adventure/RPG, with a very engaging story. Superb soundtrack (very synth and electro), and omg... the puns and the humor are top notch... And if the humor was not only one present throughout the entire game, the best part is really the credits at the end. I would several times load a save to do the final battle, just so I could laugh at all the "cast" jokes, that's how good the credits part are.

A note regarding all the negative reviews, from someone who has played not only the original in the 90's but also this open source version for decades now, way before it was made available on Steam: the negative reviews seem to focus exclusively on the fact that the original composer of some of the music tracks has asked for them to be removed from the distributed game on Steam... You can still get the proper content UQMs from the project page. By not recommending to NOT play this game over a petty issue like that, is quite frankly idiotic, since you can easily solve the problem if you have 2 brain cells to rub together, by visiting the project page over at https://sc2.sourceforge.net/

If you want to show your disapproval about the issue, then you might as well do a negative review on the Stardock versions instead, because that is linked to why the tracks had to be removed, since those tracks, exist on those games. And has for the author of those tracks and his decision, it is entirely his right and decision to do so.

Having played the Civilization games from the very first one, can't really say this was the best one (I probably still rank the IV as my all time favourite). Initially I was, like many others a bit creeped out by the cartoonish graphics, but eventually it grows on you and hopefully you'll end up liking it as much as I do. Gameplay wise, its ok-ish although still bears some annoyances that were introduced in Civilization V:

- No stacks of doom
- Unit control zones (I hate these)
- Unable to raze capital cities (this is actually a deal breaker for me... damn my OCD like perfectionism)

Overall, I still recommend it.

Another nice feature regarding Civilization franchise in general, is that mod support is better than previous iterations, so a lot more mods can be done, which will also increase the re-playability of the game.

Torchlight 2 (along with the first one) are one of the best hack'n slash games that was ever made after Diablo II. Fast paced game, with vivid and colorful graphics and with good re-playability, as you can keep playing the game in increasingly harder difficulty settings using the same characters. Character design is unique, and probably one of the first game series I can recall, to use that kind of aesthetic in games

Its a fun little casual game, perfect if you are just waiting for something and cant do much more. Play it just a couple of minutes at a time, to chill. Long periods might be a bit strainful and stressful, due to the nature of the game. Cute and funny characters, and a game that requires no real skill, just good reflexes. Even if you play it against someone that has a high skill rating, its not unusual that they will commit some noob error.

Homeworld was (and still is) one of the best RTS games ever made, if you like the genre, you will absolutely love this. Excellent graphics, and an engaging story that drives the player through a universe to reclaim a homeworld lost by time and memory. Seeing it being remastered after having played the original long ago, was a well received "gif"t from the developers. A must have for collectors, RTS and space settings fans.

There's not much I can say about the game really... it lives up to his predecessor, in more ways one can enumerate. Beautiful graphics, excellent mix of strategy and turn-based combat, engaging story, and much more. Having played the original game serior, and the reboot, this was a obvious choice for me, specially because we knew in advance that it would have mod support. I was so eager to get my hands on this game that it was the only game so far I ever pre-ordered. And I was not disappointed. Missions are now more unique, and more random, thanks to the effort of the dev team to generate maps using parcels. Aliens have evolved, into their own uniqueness. Soldiers have now new layers of customization and you can truly grow affinity with them, as the "Commander". An engaging story, that sets the events from the previous game, as if humanity had lost the war, and XCOM becomes a guerilla and resistance organization against the aliens. As for mod support (and as a modder) I never worked with a SDK so powerful as this (UDK engine), you can pretty much do anything with it. This is a game I will play over and over again, until we get XCOM 3, if ever.

On a side note... I really loved that, the player (AKA the Commander), never has their gender hinted, so the player, regardless of their gender, can experience the game in the same manner, without ever feeling that it was forced into a specific gender role.

There seems to be a lot of "hate" towards this game, and I don't know wether its justified or not. Most people complaining about bugs, crashes or whatever. I never had any issues at all. The only thing I can point about the game is that sometimes aliens are a bit too "aggressive" which makes the game harder on what should be a normal difficulty. Still, I enjoy the game, has amazing graphics, and a nice touch of humor, somewhat reminiscent to Star Control 2, which I'm sure played an inspiration to the developer.

I can't even begin to describe how much of a good surprise this game was for me. When I bought it I did it because a friend suggested the game to me, and I was pretty dismissive about it, that was until I played the game. This is the best, in my opinion RPG/Adventure game I ever played. Stunning and beautiful graphics, and a gorgeous and well themed UI. The game has lots of puzzles, that are fun to solve, without being excessively cryptic or frustating. Characters well designed and the game has a nice touch of sillyness to it, that will make you chuckle, without spoiling the "immersion". Thumbs up for the inclusion of a racial LGBT couple (human and orc) who struggles with the lack of acceptance from orc society towards same sex couples.
