Fun casual f2p cross-platform game to play with friends. I enjoy rivals and love play strategist, but the game does have it's flaws. Biggest Pros?
- Very fun playing your favourite marvel heroes in-game, and they do a good job with the character keeping their identity
- cool ah comic book art-style, and some of the skins are really cool. Not beating the gooner allegations tho netease
- lots of heroes with low skill floor means it's easy to pick up, and matchmaking in qp is borderline instant. If you're impatient and hate queues this is the game for you lol
- Once you buy a battlepass you don't have to worry about fomo, even when the next one drops you can still progress you're old ones as long as you own them already! very cool!

Now for the cons, wheeee..
- matchmaking. First and foremost, that INSTANT queue time came at a price, and that price is match quality. Your games will feel all over the place, and range quite a lot in skill level, duration and team comps. oh, and if you lose a bunch they just straight up give you a bot game to boost your ego. Engagement based matchmaking is something I strongly dislike lol
- Game performance. I have a solid gaming rig I've built and tuned myself over the years, and I can run most games quite comfortably at 120fps on high-ultra. This game I cannot do that. Frame dips or stutters are common during massive teamfights, massive terrain destruction or regeneration or just during a Dr. Strange portal still lol. Also have to restart every couple hours to keep the stuttering from getting worse, so memory leak maybe?
- Lastly, the balancing. While I still play this game a lot and love it, and these are obviously not enough to turn me off of the game, almost every balance or patch note has something that leaves me scratching my head wondering who the hell thought that was a good idea. Some heroes feel wildly underpowered or useless while others feel unnecessarily strong for having such low skill floors/ceilings. Every hero shooter has balancing issues and I disagree with decisions they make from time to time, but rivals is a whole other ballpark X_X

All that being said, still a good game and a fun time, best enjoyed with friends!

I've been playing this game on and off for years, and it's got things I love and things that frustrate me.

You can do almost anything you want in this game, there are so many different features and mechanics to interact with, but they don't have much depth. Go fishing, scan planets and lifeforms, build bases, fight pirates, loot abandoned frigates, haul trade commodities from system to system, manage a fleet, build your own ship. You name it, it reminds me a lot of GTA Online in a sense, where it's this vast open world for you to explore and interact with, and there's no real goal unless you make one.

There is a story, tbh I don't remember much I did it so long ago but I remember being only semi-invested in it lol, really for me the appeal was just the vastness of the universe and being this lone explorer, surviving and thriving in what felt like a new frontier, going from the different planets scanning for materials, setting up mines, locating and developing my settlements and setting up "outpost" bases at cool spots.

My complaints? I love building, but the base building can feel frustrating as hell sometimes with the snapping and placements just overall the experience itself isn't great. Likewise with building corvettes, though that gets even more frustrating IMO when I run into certain pieces not being able to be oriented or rotated the way I like, or the part limit and windows counting towards it, or how glitchy windows on corvettes look side-by-side.

The other big thing is, a lot of things can feel pointless unless you're just doing it to try it. Exocrafts feel pretty pointless, corvette feels pointless, base building is just for funsies, like they have all these cools systems and features, but they don't have anything distinct about them or unique. I still use the exocraft, and corvette, and make bases. It's enjoyable for me and I just love the setting and artstyle of this game but I wish these new systems had more purpose I s'pose.

That being said, this game is fantastic and I highly recommend. No battlepasses, no DLC's or paid expansions, no micro-transactions. Just constant free updates for the last 8+ years, a wonderful and creative community, crossplatform support, and who knows what else they'll add!?

I played the first game from 2018 onwards and reached level 13 and champion, and in this game I'm currently lvl 6 as I write this and ranked 75th overall.

Now I believe this game has a lot of potential. It's early in development, so there are bugs. Missing or incomplete features and balancing to be done. It crashes. All that aside Pixel Starships 2 is a rather enjoyable game that is akin to Clash of Clans but in space. Building and upgrading your ship, leveling your crew, changing the layout over and over, tweaking the AI to fight automatically for you. There's countless areas with depth to explore and master as you play.

The devs are active in the discord and I've talked directly with a few to resolve bugs or discuss features, and they're great folks. Never have I felt so close to a game or like I actually had a say in it's design before. The community is great, helping new players understand the complicated core mechanics and niche interactions of the game with great patience and always a friendly air of rivalry in the upper echelons of the game.

I love this game already, and I am thoroughly excited to see what the devs have in store for us in the future. If you want a chill game to play on another screen while watching a show, chilling in a game queue or on a break at work, this game's got it. It's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be, and there isn't another game like it.

I hope to see you out there Captain!

You Rock! Cancel That.

Jokes aside tho, game is fun as hell. Expect to get destroyed when you just start out, but it can only go up from there. So much variety with all the gods and builds, and it's even better with friends. People can be toxic but that's just the internet as a whole, so not really blaming the game for that. Just mute em and carry em.

There used to be a time of peace when the game existed on multiple platforms with everyone happy. But that all changed when the Epic games nation attacked. Only Psyonix could stop them by not switching over, but they gave in to the temptation.

TL:DR gud game on a not so gud platform now
