CoH3 Improves on the previous iterations in every way, this is a rare labour of love in a shrinking genre of old-school RTS games.

The single player campaign is deep, well crafted and enjoyable. The multiplayer scene is alive and well, albeit with some inevitable toxicity and balance issues, but a decent experience for those wanting an intense, competitive RTS.

Fans of the series shouldn't think twice about buying, and there's plenty to enjoy for strategy fans new to CoH too.

Probably the best multiplayer RTS ever made. The depth of Company of Heroes 2 is immeasurable; every match is different with layers upon layers of strategic and tactical challenges. It's more than a simple question of out-economising or out-clicking your opponent like other RTS games. A match in Coh2 feels more like an exhilarating and exhausting mental tug-of-war, and when you come up against an evenly matched opponent, win or lose it almost always boils down to a satisfying, climactic ending.

There are countless nuances and gameplay mechanics that keep the decision-making fresh and interesting even after a thousand hours of matches. Sure, the game has a few balance issues but with a meta-game this complex its a miracle it isn't completely broken. Even after nearly 10 years, the game is still being actively supported and tweaked, while players are still discovering new and amazing ways to challenge and surprise opponents.

On top of its unique and insanely deep gameplay, there are hundreds of aesthetic touches and details that make this game great. The voice acting, visceral animation, faction design, sound quality and countless other elements all coalesce beautifully in a way that you can't help but feel invested in your own little army. Simply put, this game has a distinct and tangible 'soul' that's lacking from so many other titles in the genre.

I'm sure the singleplayer is pretty fun too, if that's your thing.
