honestly jus giving a thumbs up bc of all the dope clips ive seen on youtube. dudes flying choppers into elevators, dudes flying through the air hitting quickscopes from 500m, dudes flying in dropping behind enemy players, trolling them, dropping C4 on them and leaving... but most of all that 71 year old veteran sniper GrndpaGaming that does sniping vids on youtube and tiktok. Some amazing gameplay when people get it to work

Sometime in 2025, COD studios revamped and optimized Verdansk and its been running smooth. Gun play and speed are back but i noticed Anti Aim sbmm still remains.

Dec 2023 edit. This review is for MW2 Warzone 2... NOT MW3

Aug 2023 Edit: You Need an 250gb SSD drive for this game. Spend the money for a high end SSD and don't put anything else on that drive.

May 2025 edit: Verdansk is back and its pretty good except that we're still where we at with cheaters that we left in 2020. Activision/Call of Duty is doing everything they can to NOT fix the servers or develop a real anti-cheat. The biggest mistake Treyarch did was "Rebuild Verdansk From The Ground Up", which literally no-one asked for nor wanted. Its not a bad job, but like everything else COD Devs do, its half azz'd and every update to fix anything gives more bugs than before they went in. Which brings me back to Verdansk as a map, it was pretty evident Treyarch should've started with 80's Verdansk with Nakatomi Towers, a literal player base favorite and hot spot before we were given Caldera as a map replacement. Which tells me, Treyarch devs are not BOPS3 devs bc they would've never botch a chance to bring back peak Verdansk era. So I did some googling and I was right, all but 1 dev had left Treyarch since BOPS3. So everyone on social media throwing boost on Treyarch bc of BOPS3, those are nobody devs and they never worked on BOPS3.

Since Call of Duty isn't giving their games their own Title page we're left editing our OG reviews ... this is done on purpose by Activision Call of Duty so fresh title reviews don't drown new releases in negative feedback...basically padding the wallet.

Operator Error?:
The game wont even launch properly. It gets stuck and never opens. It says I've played this game 13hrs (at time of this writing) which is incorrect, i haven't played at all because it wont launch on Steam or Battlenet.

Alt Console Play:
Works on PlayStation only as far as i can tell. No one has isolated the core problem (Read Edit), just ridiculous work around's. I played Plunder on console and its OK but this is just NOT COD. The movement is atrociously slow. Once spotted its really a matter of who has the faster internet speed.

Edit:
After deleting the game and resetting MICROSOFT system processes (there was a compatibility process off that kept it stuck at Launch Screen), I re-downloaded the game and it is now functioning no problem, oddly haven't even had a crash.

Edit Update: Isolated core No Launch problem. Its USB Bluetooth dongles. Disconnect everything not M&K and launch game. Once it successfully launches you can plug in your dongle(s). This only has to be done once as far as i can tell.

Quality:
As far as the quality of the titles/maps, there's NOTHING comparable to Warzone Verdansk or the Advanced Movement Titles. The buildings are cookie cutter, there's almost no buildings with breakable windows that would provide cover fire or evasion of enemy hunts. They're exceptionally tight quarters and placement of loot crates is frustrating, especially when you open them and ALL the loot pops out layered on top of each-other. Which makes it an inconvenient mess in clutch situations where you need a weapon or kill-streak to fend off pursuers for a savory win.

Environmental Disaster Pending?:
Whoever was in charge of Buy Station and Exfil placements did a horrendous job. Sometimes having to leave your Squad to travel 700m away to get ammo or ANYTHING to remain fighting. Exfils are so poorly distributed that I've now seen multiple occasions of more than half the lobby being left in the hot-zone because the chopper touches down and leaves the moment one person jumps on. (Not sure if hacker or glitch because there's a timer that counts down to lift off that is still counting when its left the map)

Critical Assessment?:
The only thing that would be a wow factor at this point is if Activision Call of Duty made a Warzone with Jet-packs and Wall Running. Call it: "Advanced Warzone". And honestly if people are paying for cheats/hacks that are equivalent to Advanced Movement title mechanics/features, there's obviously a massive player base that wants Advanced Movement esk titles. (Money Left on the table i guess).

Whats Really Going On?:
So far a fukton of ideas I've posted on Facebook Gaming (the one that was permanently suspended after posting those ideas) & Twitter (also permanently suspended) are now in Warzone. So devs are watching and listening to even the most not nice criticizers, like me and others that had similar or same suggestions. (Sorry about those A.I.'s).

The Cheating/Hacking Situation:
Its gotten minutely better... there was a ban wave that i guess Hardware Banned not only their GPU's but also their CPU and Mobo (according to sources). Though i still run into hackers with infinite ammo, mortar/air strikes, aim-bot and walls. But its not as rancid as Verdansk, Caldera and the Islands maps.

Modes:
A lot of people wanna play what they wanna play. But for whatever reason Raven keeps up with some really asinine map rotators that simply don't make sense. Plunder is a favorite of many, yet from what I've seen, its mostly left out of the rotators and Multiple BR/Resurgence modes are supplemented with 4, 3, 2 and 1 player map modes... and a large part of the player base is like: "WHY?".

DMZ... the one with A.I. bots:
I think DMZ is underrated but picking up popularity and mostly from being able to get into strongholds for Weapon Blueprints. I'm still discovering the viability of this but there's even mission tasks to unlock weapons and skins. I found out the hard way that this mode isn't just for one squad... its like a BR, so not only are you fighting bots... but other enemy players can sneak up on you and steal EVERYTHING from you. Though a pretty neat feature added is the ability to "Plead" for enemy teams to revive you, thereby joining their squad... which can be up-to 6 players as far as I've seen. I've been saved several times and ex-filled to save my gear and weapons.

Why I don't recommend:
While there's graphical, mechanical and functionality changes that impact how players play... its largely a mundane experience. One complaint i still suffer is the onslaught of children playing this game that have no respect, no sense of team work and have the worst language I've heard. There should be a checkbox [ x ] feature implemented in regular game-play and party search modes that specifically provide the ability to play with specific age (Maturity) groups.

Conclusion:
Its an insufferable experience to both endure the ranting, raging, racist ignorance of a lot of these children that pop their mic on AFTER we hot-drop in a mode and then have to compromise our play-ability or tactical strategies by muting a team member when we could pre-match simply exclude specific age demographics by checking a box.

bought this day zero & refunded, received as a gift after edge runner update... game story pretty good but still glitches and serious lack of fluidity in controller mechanic movements. 6 out of 10

Its pretty good... would like to see the UI upgraded graphically. A few mechanics arent really user friendly but function to get the job done. Potential to out perform other similar software.
