This is what a role-playing game is. It's not just stats and perks, and killing and looting everything within a 5km radius. You can actually be who you want to be a *stick to it*.

But *BUYER BEWARE* there is no combat *at all*. There are several instances of skillchecks during what would be considered text combat, but this is not a shooter. This is not Wasteland or Fallout. There's more guns than bullets in this game and there's only 4 guns.

Game's not perfect. Some problems:
- NUMEROUS spelling errors. It take me out of the moment when I see them, sometimes several in just one dialogue interaction.
- The main plot is more linear than you'd think for this type of game.
- Some roles are hard-coded to fail and as far as I'm concerned this is bad game design, even if the failure of those rolls lead to rewards, this could have been handled better.
- There is a specific Shivers check late in the story that can *NOT* be skipped/avoided/worked around. You need to play the game in a certain way to artificially boost the outcome, or spec your character specifically for this check.
- The killer that you are after, to keep it spoiler free, was a very disappointing addition to the game, when there were so many other interesting people who *could* have done it.
- I don't know who decided to censor some words and not others, but if you're going to censor, do it completely or not at all.
- On the more technical side of things, I've only crashed a handful of times, which is a handful of times too many.
- On one occasion, in the doomed shopping district or whatever, I died from heart failure, and when I reloaded the save, the screen was pitch black, and while items/containers/exit grids could still be interacted with, nothing could disengage the black screen, causing a full restart.
- The game also ends at what I would call its "peak". All your main engagements are settled, and if you've been paying attention to the games history and its major players, something much, much larger seems to be going on in Martinaise, or Revachol specifically. This creates a conundrum for me, on one hand, I feel like this game was a large tutorial for a larger game. On the other, I know it's not only unfair for me to want the developers to sink more money, and more hours into a project that already breaks the 30 hour mark if you take your time, but it's also unreasonable.

This is a very good game and a lot of passion was put into it. If you liked Planescape: Torment, you'll feel slightly at home with this title. I'd recommend it *solely* on its ability to show you what an RPG actually is, instead of an FPS with skills and perks.
