I knew I would love everything about the aesthetic, soundtrack, and vibe of Skate Story's world as soon as I saw the reveal trailer. The one thing I couldn't know until I had hands on was if it was a good skating game, and thankfully I can say that is an extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun and expressive skating game.

Great platformer game with satisfying exploration and puzzles, and a unique traversal mechanic that feels great to control. It tells a charming short story without any dialogue as well. I do wish the animation was a bit more polished because there's quite a few moments that look a little janky, but it doesn't take away from the experience. Very happy I played this.

Haven't finished this yet but it already ranks high among my favorite Metroid-likes. Extremely impressive level of creativity and quality in the map exploration, equipment upgrades, and *especially* the boss fights. It's quite difficult by default (there are loads of difficulty options to tweak), but everything is so fun and well designed that I've found each challenge very satisfying to conquer. I love the vibe of the art and music, and there are a lot of exciting set piece moments that really sell that you're racing against a bunch of other mercenaries and soldiers to find the Zexion.

P.S. Highly recommend using crt-royale with Reshade if you can, makes the excellent pixel art pop even more.

An accomplishment in annoying little sister writing.

Also a very special game about the people of Quinto, Ecuador while their national team is on the journey to qualify for the World Cup for the first time. Full of plenty of warm, funny, and human interactions, this game feels like a big blanket. Kicking the ball feels legitimately great and there's a few standout segments of the game that really surprised me with their creativity. Play it!

Incredibly unique puzzle game with excellent design, music, and presentation. It starts a bit slow but after a handful of runs I already had a bunch of different puzzle threads to pull at. The tension of the blueprints you draw limiting how much you can pull at each thread each run is very fun and unlike anything I've played. Highly recommend, especially if you're a puzzle gamer who loves games that require writing down some of your own notes.

well that was some of the most fun two hours I've had playing a shooter, can't wait to play more! The movement in this is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun and seems to have a lot of depth. The weapons, enemies, and level design all really complement it perfectly to make a game that's pure adrenaline and fun.

One of my absolute VR favorites, will always be in the rotation if I'm looking to get a good work out. There's plenty of great tracks and two short campaigns that are probably some of the most fun I've had in video games (especially Smoke & Thunder). It also comes with plenty of other modes and options that keep it fresh every time I come back. There's even mod support now for custom tracks, I just played levels that used the Can Can and Seven Nation Army.

Highly recommended for any VR owner!

Very happy with this Special Edition port of one of my favorite PS1 games growing up. Tomba! is a truly unique action adventure game with a creative world, fun characters, and game design that's taking inspiration from a lot of genres (RPGs, point-and-click adventure games, platformers, Zelda / Metroid style progression via finding new tools in an open world, and more), but manages to make it all cohere into an experience that's a joy to play.

I spent my first hour just looking through all the awesome stuff in the museum, the handful of videos with the Director and Composer were especially cool. Gameplay-wise it's nice to be able to save anywhere and the rewind has been great for when I'm feeling impatient with some of the trickier platforming sections. I also installed Reshade and am using the crt-royale shader, which imo makes the game look real nice, definitely better than with the built-in CRT overlay.

Maybe best of all is the brand new soundtrack, I was cautious about it before release because I enjoyed the original so much, but so far pretty much every track has felt like an improvement or at least of equal quality. I've yet to be disappointed upon hearing the music when I progress to a new area. The original soundtrack is also available to play with, remastered in CD quality in-game for the first time. There's also a music player in the main menu where you can listen to any track (I do wish it had more media controls than just pausing). I should mention that I've had a few moments of the music sounding tinny during gameplay, not sure if that's an issue with the emulation or what, hopefully it can be patched soon.

I can definitely recommend this to old fans like me and newcomers who want to experience this PS1 gem for the first time!

It's been over 5 years and this is still my favorite VR game (or at least tied with Alyx). I'm surprised I haven't posted a review yet, because Jet Island deserves so so much attention and praise. It's got some of the most fun movement I've had the pleasure to experience in a game and it's in a surprisingly beautiful environment that's a blast to traverse, explore, and just hang out in. The giant boss fights are unbelievably cool and an absolute blast, both puzzling out what's needed to defeat them and executing on the moving and shooting needed. Really hope to see more from Master Indie soon!
