Team Cherry didn't just meet our expectations after Hollow Knight -- they *exploded* them. Silksong has set the new quality ceiling for Metroidvanias. Is it hard? Sure, I wouldn't recommend starting with Silksong; Hollow Knight is still an *amazing* game, and it's a great introduction to the series(!). But in that difficulty lies some insane depth. For instance, in most games, I hate preparing "builds" -- it feels like a chore and a distraction, and I can usually find a build I'm comfortable with that will carry me through the whole game. In Silksong, it was basically necessary to re-kit myself on occasion depending on what I was trying to accomplish, and it felt *good* to do it!

The only stain (and it is a deep stain) on this masterwork is Bilewater. Team Cherry makes Miyazaki look like a saint in comparison.

10/10 can't wait for the randomizer

For once, I didn't hate April Fool's Day.

(Play it. It's ~2 hours long and really good. It's hard to beat free.)
