The games are solid but my enjoyment has become negatively affected as a result of only being able to play one of the three games at higher frames without any huge side effects.

The original Phoenix Wright trilogy and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles can run at higher frames without any issues, via native support for the former and mods for the latter.

Apollo Justice is entirely unplayable the more frames are present as game speed is tied to the frames. Dual Destinies works at higher frames with no problems with some modifications needed to the animation speed. Spirit of Justice more of less is the same but the speed of in-game cut scenes and courtroom panning movements are impacted by higher frames.

It's very disappointing that these games were bundled in such a bare-bones port.

Kudos to Arrowhead, because the game is amazing and fun, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this game when SONY is doing everything in its power to exploit HD2's unexpected success by mandating PSN accounts and banning the game from being bought in regions where PSN is restricted.

I wholeheartedly recommend this

This marks my third playthrough of the first game; the first was an indirect one by watching the subbed playthroughs by the Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 channel on YouTube way back then, and the second via Citra using the Scarlet Study's excellent translation patches, and now the official localization.

Each iteration has managed to remain relatively fresh because of the difference in the translations between the three groups, which is especially apparent with this release what with anything to do with Sherlock Holmes needing to be changed.
I am eternally grateful to the Scarlet Study and Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 channel for providing an alternative to what was a pipe dream at the time.

It feels nice to have this game look this good at your native resolution, while Citra could accomplish this via increasing the internal resolution, the UI and text did not scale as well.
The soundtrack for this game is just absolutely phenomenal, as is the case for most AA games.
A small gripe I have is that while it ran at 60FPS on the 3DS, it's locked to 30 here, what's more peculiar is that the cutscenes run at 60; this is a non-issue and the framerate can be unlocked by Cheat Engine or other, I have mine running at a buttery smooth 144 FPS.

Also there are no sliders for the audio options, only toggles

It's been two decades since the original Ace Attorney was released on the GBA, and I hope that with this release, that Steam is fully established as a home for older and newer entires in the Ace Attorney series.

I don't what it was with the DLC, but the base game almost never crashed. I've crashed so many times in this DLC and the checkpoints are terrible. I beat the DLC but it crashed during the credits so I was forced to fight the last boss again.

A superb remake/remaster of a beloved cult classic; improved combat, mobility, and many great QoL changes help to make the original experience feel somewhat new.

However as this is essentially a 2010 game, there are lot of outdated game elements, and you can really tell in certain areas. It would have been nice if they added newer areas or expanded the old ones for more exploration. Also 100% completing the game is a total nightmare due to asinine RNG and requires further preparation, as there are missable items

The main quests make you go back and forth constantly in an awful way to extend the game's length.

You barely have any interaction with the original gang from 13-1, not to mention they haven't changed at all

Every NPC looks the same and enemies become absurdly powerful on the last days.

60 FPS cap is also a bummer

Lightning in the Logo, Lightning on the cover, Lightning in the Pictures, Lighting in the game.... as a side character. You play as her sister and a guy named Noel for the majority of the game. Story is a mess, and randomly appearing enemies are very annoying to deal with. Only thing good thing is the soundtrack and Caius

This is the definitive way to play the trilogy; however it could have added more features like chapter select, cg/art gallery, music box, customization (change font, change music for each game)

This game is the best! Falcom never disappoints and the music certainly does not either
