So, I ran into a game-ruining situation pretty far into the game but the developer, squarehusky, reached out to me in record time and gave me a workaround until a patch could be implemented. Obviously this is great both for myself but for any prospective buyers as it means feedback is heard and development is ongoing.

For those that are curious, everafter plays a bit more like animal crossing than farm sims with plenty of collections / goals to keep you busy while never making you feel like you're being rushed.

Every critter only has one element type which leads to dealing neutral damage instead of super effective damage in battle. None of the mons seem particularly overpowered and their movesets are kind of shallow. The end seems rushed.. after beating the ICE titan, the end of the game is just 10 minutes away. Overall, not bad but not on par with pokémonsters

walk to an arena. fight. walk to another arena. fight. gets old fast.

Combat seems broken. AI is either a potato or an Aimbot -- nothing in between. Also the traversal speed on the world map is way too slow for comfort.

Cant recommend yet but it has potential

Even without clunky UI and bugs, the core gameplay is pretty abysmal. Interesting idea but bad execution.

If they made a sequel and charged 30$. Id pay twice

I loved the first CCN but this one doesnt play as smoothly. The lack of combos and synergies to quickly close out a game has been completely erradicated, and there arent as many standout cards that you look forward to obtaining. I beat this game in a single sitting but i'dwould be VERY hesitant to ever slog through it again unlike CCN1. 3/5

another early access game that will never be finished

Complicated as hell, no in game tutorial / assistance. Once you do get it going all you have to do is sit back and it plays itself for you.
