simple review: 5/10, it has serious potential but in its current state its kinda a broken mess.

nuanced/opinionated review, I love this game. it does everything right from a fundamental gameplay standpoint. the issue has to do with the menu systems and the peer to peer network, which I personally can overlook. ranked matches take a bit to fill, due to the peer to peer system, and customs fill up insanely fast.

now to clarify on this game being entirely pay to win, most custom matches use unrestricted cost. Your most powerful suits are 700+ in cost. 700+ cost is pay to win, they are your most powerful and game breaking suits. if you want a more balanced game, lower the cost.
for cost estimates;
700+, pay to win
600-650, suits are much easier to obtain however some pay to win elements are present
500-550, pay to win suits are much harder to obtain in this tier. most suits are viable in some form
300-450, almost zero pay to win suits are present in this tier. obtaining good suits for this tier is as easy as going to the dp shop
100-250, this tier strips most fun abilities from the game and leaves you with gimmick suits and "generic foot grunt" suits.

finally to sum; 5/10 however despite that I love the game even with its flaws and though having pay to win cost levels, you can play through merit on lower costs.

short summary: play the game, its fantastic!

Long version: The game does everything right, from soundtrack to story and gameplay. nothing comes off incomplete and it has a surprising amount of content. The fps elements are well handled, the atmosphere equally so, and the overall feeling of the game was amazing! My only gripe being that it was too much fun and has sold me on any future dusk releases and by extension New Blood releases.

The game feels really good to play, found several characters I like, ost is a banger, and my friends refuse to play against me

finished the game. designed to be difficult, not hard.

everything from the ground up is designed to give an earned power fantasy. It's awesome!

though issues include somewhat repetitive map design, a few extremely minor bugs, and a first play through that almost felt too short.

positives, good soundtrack, good gameplay, and despite being repetitive the maps were well designed.

overall a solid 8/10 experience, will gladly dump more time into the game

BBTAG is amazing, its a personal favorite of mine.
gameplay is simple on the surface with insane amounts of depth and the roster is all a lot of fun.
music is decently good, cant complain there.
and this game is 200% bull, literally everything is broken in one way or another. if its not from single characters its from the tag system itself. its my favorite part to the game.
however so far I would say the game isn't the easiest to get into due to the tag systems complexity; despite that hoever, if you have a friend willing to join you in learning this game you should have no issues learning how to play
7/10 overall, despite being a favorite I think centralfiction and GG XRD are objectively better mechanically while GGST is superior when it comes towards new player accessibility. still an amazing game worth playing though.

Played the Demo a while back passing it off as a simple mech builder. Now that I own the "full" game, gotta say it's better than I remember.
The in-game combat is sadly very uniform between mechs and most skill trees aside from more minor content, not to mention some of the skills at use would feel better as its own unique specialize class and not something any mech can use. Though the gameplay is still enjoyable enough to get me to grind out currency for skills and more armor. My only gripe being the bosses, the minions they spawn are a little too easy to ignore and the boss invincible states are more of an annoying chore than anything. normal enemies are fun and the feeling of speed and power you get while fighting them is a lot of fun. mechanics wise its not super complex, don't expect combat like devil may cry or bayonetta. It'd be more akin to that of early warframe combat with far less polish.

Though the customization blows me away, its AMAZING, it has no right to be as good as it is. There are template items you unlock from progressing through the game and custom items you can get via in-game currency at any time. Combining both of which makes some truly mind blowing creations.

gameplay is a solid 6-7/10
the customization is easy 9/10 if not a 10/10
overall this game would get an 8/10.

best movement in a game I've played, period. its hard limits mixed with easy to understand mechanics really make you feel like a super solider. not to mention the weapon sandbox is top tier. no contest when it comes towards weapon diversity and function. the soundtrack is something truly special, the game looks amazing, love the art direction, and BTB was the best mode to revamp. the only Negative I can give is the horrid progression and cosmetic systems. cannot comment on the Single player, yet, though this has only further added to my overall hype to the campaign.

I did a review at the 5 hour mark thinking this game is good. after 10x the amount of time I can safely say that its even better than it was at the 5 hour mark. this game will start you off feeling powerless in the face of powerful foes, to then slowly build the skills to make these seemingly impossible challenges nothing more than a fun pass time.

the secrets in this game are fun and add some movement challenges to explore and find these secrets. like a good example is the soap on the third stage of limbo.

queue times are alright. you gotta plan to play this game, but highly worth the wait.
