Borderlands 4 is a great game. The weapons are fun, the playable characters are interesting and unique, the enemy/boss design is wonderful, and the breadth of content is vast. There hasn't been a moment in any of my sessions where I wasn't enjoying myself. If you like Borderlands, looter-shooters, FPS/RPG games in general you will enjoy Borderlands 4.

With all that said, the performance is very poor. My PC has a 7900XT, 7800X3D, and 32GB of ram and it cannot run the game consistently above 60FPS on low/medium 1440p native. From what I understand even GPUs like the 4090 and 5090 struggle at high resolutions. You will need to use upscaling, you will need to lower your settings, you might have to experiment with frame generation in order to get this game in a playable state. My brother has a 3080 which is the card specified in the recommended specs and as a PC purist I would describe his game as barely playable. Your standards might be lower or higher. DLSS quality looks very solid but FSR and TSR leave a lot to be desired. If your on an AMD GPU be warned.

Borderlands 4 is a huge step forward for the franchise and is so much fun to play. My recommendation is to optimize the best you can, turn off your performance metrics for a little bit, and enjoy the fantastic game underneath this UE5 mess.

Civ 6 with all expansions is the best turn based strategy game you can play right now. Its only rival is XCOM 2.

When the game actually works, it's a lot of fun.

See that's the issue... It doesn't work. Frequent crashes, horrible optimization, and a plain buggy interface, makes the game very unenjoyable. If they make it possible to play the game, I might consider playing it again.

I am already in love with the art style and music. Those two aspects alone make this game enjoyable.
