I was hoping for more content but it just seems like it dried up real fast. It has a good base structure but feels unfinished. I like the Collab feature and I feel like given enough time it could be expanded on and be even more fun to mess around with... the HoloSim feature just feels like a job and could have a more entertaining minigame structure. I just feel like it's not really worth the 5 dollars when there's FREE idle games that offer you more features and become more and more expanded the longer you play it. This just gets old and should be free.

I'm a little disappointed because I expected more, especially with all of the claims about being "revitalized" and "ultimate versions." You guys could've just been honest and said "hey here's a port with a few extra features that don't really add much to the experience."

I just hope that this money is actually going to Krin and gives incentives for him to continue making Sonny games.

Still waiting on that Sonny 3 btw. It's been more than a decade lol

Do not buy this unless you just want an accessible version of the game instead of risking downloading a random .swf off of the internet. It does not add enough to justify the price.

If you own Dark Souls PTDE I would argue this is NOT worth the price, so if you do, I do not recommend unless you really want to spend that much money for pretty much better optimization, better netcode, and pvp changes. (Not to mention a lot of old mods don't work with DSR) Outside of that, you would be a psycho to not recommend one of the best games of all time.

It's an L moment trying to monetize a free mod of a free game. Not to mention the plethra of bugs, outdated engine, and severely complicated setup to make a listen server actually work without a memory error. Just don't.

Why would you make a sequel? Why? Your decisions already killed the community, what makes you think this will do anything good?

So I see a lot of criticism that in my opinion is very weak, here's my take on the game:

ObsCure 2 is a solid PS2 title. The combat is smooth, you can change weapons on input, manage your inventory, etc. The graphics are great for the time, and some areas of the game still look good today. The story, albeit lackluster and campy, is cohesive enough to follow. The level design, linear or not, keeps you on edge and guessing what's going to happen next. The scares had me terrified as a kid and still sometimes get the jump on me today. The gameplay rewards you for exploration, and is difficult enough for you to have to scrounge as much ammo as you can because you keep running out of it.

Of course, the game is not perfect if you compare it to the first game. But on its own retrospect it's a solid horror title and offers a lot of replayability through gameplay alone.

Is it worth the buy? If you enjoy older games and can stomach old game design, definitely.

7.5/10

Early Access Review
Do NOT be skeptical because it's in Alpha, it's more of a complete game than most games you find now-a-days. For an "alpha" it feels very full of content, to the point where you can sink many many hours into it.
I also heavily suggest playing with friends as it's very fun with friends.
It's a must buy for anyone who loves survival games like Rust (especially if you enjoyed Experimental Rust)

To each their own when it comes to opinions, but I can still say they're wrong, and here's why.

This game is clunky on purpose so you have to weigh your decisions and timing properly. This will punish impatient players or players who expect it to be like Dark Souls 1 and 3 where you just bait and hit.

"Healing" is not infinite. You can buy as many Life Gems as you want, but most of the time you will be punished for using them during combat. They will not win your fights for you, they will only help if you use them properly or out of combat.

"Healing, rolling, etc is tied to a stat." Yes, this is a RPG. How do you not expect a RPG to be progressive? This isn't Dark Souls 1 or 3, throw that expectation out of the window.

"The world design sucks." They offered to trade inter-connectivity for intriguing and beautiful set pieces because the world is way more massive than Lordran. To try to even attempt to connect every piece together would be extremely difficult and purely wasted effort for a world that massive.

"The hitboxes don't work." Actually, they are a lot more accurate than Dark Souls 1 and 3's, there's just a lot of extended hitboxes that encourage you to have more points into Adaptability for the AGI.

Here are some valid complaints:
Hackers can cause you to get softbanned, early mods could cause you to get softbanned even if you wanted a quality of life, Soul Memory sucks, Iron Keep is a bit sloppy, the game has a lot of left over design choices from the last developer that still are in the game (such as braziers, which is why you don't see them a lot later on, almost as if they forgot about them.)

This is a full game price for visual upgrades, all dlcs, and different enemy and item placement. I would still recommend getting it if you have the original Dark Souls 2, because item and enemy placement really improves gameplay. If you want to wait for a sale, go for it, but it is worth the money in my personal opinion.

It's a good game, if you're here to check out the first after playing the second one, it's worth your money and time.
