I'm tired
Resident Evil 4 is a remake that isn't afraid to stretch its runtime, and that's its most debatable trait. Each chapter feels like it's saying, "You haven't had enough yet." The village, the castle, the island — locations keep coming one after another, but toward the end you start to feel that the finale could have arrived a couple of hours sooner. Despite the virtuoso direction, fatigue from endless encounters begins to set in as you approach the credits.

In every other regard, Capcom delivered a quintessential blockbuster. The story remains the same wild tale of the president's daughter, a cult, and parasites, but now with greater emotional depth and none of the dated melodrama. The visuals have transformed the classic into a modern horror benchmark: dense shadows, detailed enemy models, cinematic lighting, and that oppressive atmosphere of rural Spain all work flawlessly. The soundtrack strikes a masterful balance between eerie silence and aggressive combat themes, perfectly underscoring the tension in every chapter and making your heart race even during familiar scenes.
