How does Steam use my data from YouTube?

Linking your YouTube account to Steam uses YouTube API Services. By using YouTube and linking your YouTube account to your Steam Profile, you agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Steam uses YouTube API Services to authenticate your YouTube account and to access the list of videos that you have posted to YouTube. When you link your YouTube account to Steam, Steam will place a cookie in your browser or Steam client containing your account's authentication tokens for YouTube. This cookie expires after 30 days. When Steam accesses the list of videos posted to your YouTube account, this data is used solely to display that list to you in Steam.

When you post a video from your YouTube account to Steam, Steam will store only the information necessary to display the video on Steam, including video ID and YouTube account ID of the video. This data will be used solely to display the video on Steam and for content moderation on Steam.

You can revoke Steam’s access to your Authorized Data via the Google security settings page.
