Hey Girl, are you the pizza at a Chinese buffet? Because I like the energy of you being here, even though your stuck between lo-mein and crab rangoon. Much like that statement I give this game props for showing up to the party and bringing something different to the table. This is the definition of LET IT COOK.

There's serious optimization issues that require some thinking (if you jump in, for the love of god tweak some of the settings to get it running, and then refine as you start playing) UE 5 is a good engine with beautiful assets but is very unoptimized. But if you can look past the overall jank going on here, its a wonderful game that'll scratch several itches at once. You're gonna get some tarkov here: Scavenging for loot and gear, even if the FPS animations are very wonky, in very samey maps with randomly placed PoIs, and hidden goodies. You'll get some Roguelike: If you die, you lose your equipment/loot/base, with event rewards based on scavenging portion clears, It'll keep you on the edge of your seat. You'll get some tower defense, in the Scavenging segments you can get assaulted by large forces sometimes, and the final wrap-up segment of the run is a pure hold-out mission.

The Story and VA are very mid, but looter-shooter tower defense loop is so good you don't care. With some serious TLC and polish team ranger has a chance at lighting-in-a-bottle on their hands and if you're gonna wait, keep an eye out for updates or post release content because what's here is a definitive diamond in the rough.

No longer freshmen in the game of gaming Triumph has found a benevolent benefactor in paradox. I believe the growing pains got worked out during the previous title, Age of Wonders: Planetfall. What we have here now is a solid, new, fresh entry. Taking inspiration and design concepts from everyone's favorite DLC farm stellaris, Which conceptually isn't a bad thing.

Its dynamic, its new, but its also familiar in all the right ways that make it a good entry. Growth itself takes many forms, The community has its row going on as fans are left reeling about the new direction. To that I say, this isn't the worst thing that could happen. We're getting more in depth personalization of not just your customizable leaders, but the people they lead as well. With narrative events that make every randomly generated map feel like its own contained episodic story and a metagame between playthroughs that ties it all together well (which personally I'd like to see expanded on). There is no campaign because we make our own here, every win, loss, battle, and victory writes the story of our Champions, Wizard-kings, and Dragon Lords. With enough tactical and strategic depth to keep your brain occupied and a universe oozing personality, you gotta roll with it and it'll roll with you and I think that flexibility makes some people hit a wall because they don't even know what they want when provided a narrative and gameplay toolbox as expansive as this.

If you love 4x its a definite pickup.

Early Access Review
I've been really waiting patiently for this game, and boy did it deliver. Forewarning, it is very early access and rough around the edges right now. But with some Support this could be a fantastic game for anyone that likes City builders and FPS, calling it Mount and Blade with guns wouldn't be too far off. Support this game and these guys, this can seriously take off into something crazy down the line.

The game has come a ways and the developers have been keeping up with new updates and content. Its not quite there yet but shaping up to be something very unique.

Its familiar enough in all the right ways and different enough to keep you on the edge of every turn. Kind of like a movie or album you've gotta give a second go to "get" it, takes a second for all the layers to click, But once it does one more turn becomes one more game.

Alot of people are gonna scream about the drama surrounding that game, but I ain't about that life. I'm about big, stompy, customizable robots, and the game that lets me and my homies squad up and tear glutes across the stars. We don't need no campaign baby, we need more autocannons and bodybags. Maps are beautiful, tooling around in a metal ge.. I mean Battlemech is fun. The game is less of an FPS and more of a robot sim, which is why its awesome. Friendship is arcane and having friends to replace your braindead AI squadmates turns missions into an absolute blast, there's alot of good stuff here even if you're rocking it solo.

This game is an absolute gem. A very solid 9/10 for me. Seriously I don't know why i'm writing this right now instead of starting another run.

I also just realized I got so sucked in from my victorious run I forgot to eat, or finish the beverage I opened and took one sip of 5 hours ago.

Its beautiful, its stylish, there's a ton of fun writing, and after my first successful run (third times a charm!) I feel like I've only touched this game's fantastic pixelated surface. Out of the box there's already oodles of good content and I cant wait to see what the developers have in store. The only gripes are some UI technicalities that need some polish, and the armory system is... kinda goofy. Honestly that's it everything else is fantastic. I like it more than Darkest Dungeon, and I'll even go so far as to say that I like it even more than FTL.
