This game does a much better job of being a realistic kitchen simulator compared to Cooking Simulator 1. As someone who has worked in a kitchen IRL, I could never get into the first game because of the lack of saving prep between days and all the silly physics stuff. Being able to prep ahead of time already makes this feel like a way closer approximation of how real kitchens operate, which is what I want from a cooking simulator game.

I do have a few gripes with this game though. I started with career mode, and after getting used to the controls and how the game works I was falling asleep due to how easy it was. Who thought it was a good idea to only give you one table at a time to do orders for in a restaurant simulator game? I was just standing around in the dining room most of the time waiting for the customers' animations to finish. When I was finally allowed to take the order, I banged it out in a minute or so and then it's just back to waiting. The career mode should really have a difficultly selector so I can crank it up and constantly get hammered by an endless stream of customers.

There are also some annoying bugs that I've come across. One of the worst ones was when upgrading kitchens to the new tier, I couldn't get any of the customers to accept any plates I gave them. I had to wait out the day doing nothing until it finally registered that the day was over. Also, the way the ingredients mix in some recipes seems off, and it's a weird struggle to get them to combine properly and get recognized as properly combined. Especially with the broccoli soup recipe, I could never get it to combine into one liquid and thus my customers were always not satisfied with that recipe due the game registering it as having too much seasoning, even though I put in the exact amount of seasoning the recipe requested.

I had no issues running the game.

Overall this game has good foundations and has the potential to be really fun if some of the bugs and jank are ironed out.

The moment-to-moment gameplay is fun, but progression feels utterly pointless. The loot feels like just a bunch of random worthless things like bubble gum and rubber bands. There are no big "oh crap" moments where you start sweating and desperate moments to extract because you found some mega-rare item like in Tarkov. The blueprints are also way too rare for the character resets they want you to do every 3 months. It'll take you hundreds of hours to collect every blueprint, which is way too long for a 3 month wipe cycle.

The recent revelations regarding aggression-based matchmaking makes the game 1000x worse. Basically, if you never deal damage to other players, you'll always get matched with people who also never deal damage to other players. Thus, you can purposely place yourself in pure Timmy lobbies by letting other people attack you and never fighting back. Then, once your aggression matchmaking score is low enough, you never have to worry about being attacked by people and that trivializes the entire game. Who thought this was a good idea?

Fun, but suffers from a lack of player base. Should probably go free to play.

You cannot have multiple characters over different servers.

I started on the Chinese sever on game launch to test things out and learn how the game works before my main server comes online, which will be NA.

When the EU server launched, I figured I'd test if you can play on multiple servers.

You cannot.

This means I will have to delete my character on the Chinese server to play on the NA server, but I wanted to keep it for experimentation. I've already put like 7 hours into it, so it's ridiculous that I have to delete it.

Allowing only one character in the whole game anywhere is lame.

A mobile-first poker game with a ridiculous amount of spammy pop-ups asking you to spend money. However, spending money is not required to play. You get a decent amount of free chips every day just for logging in. If you play carefully and manage your bet amounts, you can easily build up your wealth without buying chips for real money. After starting the game yesterday and playing for a few hours, I have around 3M chips.

I enjoy the moment-to-moment gameplay and the difficulty, but the campaign is too long and tedious to replay every three months. I have better things to do than to spend 30+ hours replaying boring content I've already played. Let me skip to endgame.

A fun co-op rogue-like that rewards skill. The recent 1.0 update added a lot of QOL that eliminated a lot of the friction while playing a match. A fun and chill time.

A better Starship Troopers game than the actual Starship Troopers game.
