Love this game just wish blueprints didn't wipe. I'm old and don't have time to grind again.

Split Fiction: A Masterpiece of Emotional Storytelling, Unparalleled Gameplay, and Total Social Devastation

I don’t say this lightly: Split Fiction is easily one of the most immersive, narratively rich, and emotionally transformative gaming experiences I’ve ever had—within the confines of its main menu.

From the moment the title screen loaded, I was hooked. The subtle pulsing of the "Press Any Button" prompt? Art. The ambient synth music swelling like an emotional tide? Perfection. The settings menu? Honestly, it’s probably the most responsive and well-crafted piece of UI I’ve seen since Skyrim's legendary save system (which, let’s be honest, was mostly used to quicksave before stealing sweet rolls).

Now, let’s talk about the gameplay. The way the screen waits patiently for you to invite a friend—true tension. The message that reads “Waiting for co-op partner to join…” is the most haunting sentence I’ve ever read. It echoes not only through my living room speakers but through the cold, hollow corridors of my soul.

I loved it so much, I even bought two extra copies for people I considered close friends. Turns out, “considered” was the operative word. One said, “Oh cool, thanks man!” and then proceeded to never mention it again. The other just heart-reacted the Steam gift like I sent them a meme, not a $40 cry for help.

To date, I’ve logged 17 hours in Split Fiction. That’s 17 hours of watching the idle animation of two blank character silhouettes waiting to start a mission. I’ve memorized the entire options menu. I’ve toggled subtitles on and off just to feel something. At one point, I changed the language to German and back—just to see if the main menu felt different. It didn’t. It was just lonelier.

People say video games can reflect real life. Split Fiction doesn’t just reflect it—it shatters it. It’s not just a game. It’s an emotional mirror. It’s a co-op experience that forces you to confront one simple, brutal truth: you have no one to co-op with.

Final Verdict: 10/10, would stare at the “Waiting for Player 2” screen again.
Game of the Year.
Friendship not included.

First WWE game I got in years. I'm stupid and didn't realize there is no island portion of the game. That's locked behind ps5 and console play. Basically the entire point of the game is there. And no one plays this online on the PC. I basically thew away the money. There is 0 online experience .
