Fantastic game, and what I've been personally looking out of a colony building game for years.
There is a great emphasis on terrain modification, and the mining system is very satisfying once you start to get going. Seeing your small uneven island become a thriving industrial hub with a completely modified geography as you go is great. And the tax system offers a way of pressuring the player without feeling unfair or obstructing, as it also rewards performing above expectations.
The voice acting that isn't a placeholder is also fantastic for a game of this type.

Despite being Early Access it's quite complete and stable, and the Dev team interacts a lot with the community and works lightning fast.

So far, worthy of a "meh". It has a deeper simulation than IV and finally steps away from mana. But it has so much stuff going at once, that you'll end up automating a lot. And it's a bit clear it will get samey after one campaign. Starting a century earlier also makes it feel much slower before you get into colonization; and by that time you'll likely be consolidated already.

Good bones, just not enough meat in them yet.

Creative Assembly's managment should be purged. Constantly screwing up, throwing resources to dumb projects that get cancelled, pushing out broken updates.

Their mistreatment of the community is just awful. And if they have any hope as a company in the future, it will be by changing up their leadership

One of the best games ever, held hostage by one of the absolute most garbage launhcers.
It's easier to pirate this game than to play the version you pay for.
