Bought this and Coma to play.
I noticed Coma was older so i decided to play that first and was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it a lot.
But this. Well, its not bad, but still a disappointment and boring especially after playing Coma.
i think its suppose to be a sequel of some sort to Coma but it feels like only the graphics were improved and the gameplay was downgraded.

The story and art was enjoyable but the gameplay felt VERY railroaded and linear.

pros:
- Like i said the story and art was good. The woman was annoying at some times but she was still enjoyable and silly at times and i love her character design, she's drawn really well. It's really funny she just has a bra hanging on her door knob
- Had some clever puzzles, like actually having to go into the pause menu for some things.

cons:
- Auto uses the correct item when you click. Despite being convenient at first it allows no item experimenting. You cant select or drag the items in your inventory to guess. No 'Will Object B work with Puzzle A? Nope, now what about Object C-' testing. No guessing if the item is even useable like in Coma.

- You're held by the hand to what puzzles to solve next. You cant pick up PAINFULLY obvious useable items until the puzzle needs it used right away, ex. the shovel, or something small like the lighter or a piece of paper.
There's no exploring the place and picking up items thinking 'i wonder what this could be used for?' and going between puzzles figuring out what its used for; Instead its being sent back and forth for items you already saw and weren't allowed to pick up until now, ex. that stupid lighter >:(

- No achievements (Atleast at time of me reviewing this.). Kinda thankful for it as i dont have to playthrough it again to achievement hunt. But i love achievements and secrets so still was kinda sad about it too.
If it did, despite me not recommending this game, i still would have tried to 100% it atleast.

So not really worth playing unless you got it for free or if you can ignore the tedious gameplay then in a bundle or a really cheap discount.
Unless achievements are added, then im definitely not replaying this lol no replayability at all either

Theres not a whole lot of content added, but whats there already makes an enjoyable game for a few hours and theres also mods
Dev seems to be active too
So far i'd give it a nice 7/10

Pros:
-Gameplay similar to Rimworld, you guide a group of people to make sure they dont kill themselves

-Very mod friendly dev, the dev even listed some mods that were made for the game

-Decently simplistic and easy to get into

Cons:
-Though i received this for free i had just now looked at the price and can agree with others that its a bit too expensive for the amount of content currently added

-Assigning roles to the sapiens is quite tedious especially if you have a large population, the dev did list that it will be tweaked though and like i said above they listed a mod that covers it until then

Some gameplay irks of mine:
-Sapiens are a bit *too* dependent, the only type of automation is continuous crafting at work stations/campfires, it would be pretty nice if there was a way to like assign a workspace for auto forage, etc

-Storage is kinda annoying, stockpiles can only hold one thing at a time and its difficult to properly assign specific things to a pile sometimes. Hopefully more storage items will be added in base game or from mods

So far 9/10, needs more foxes

Its kinda like a chill mix between Graveyard Keeper and Stardew
It has some of the mechanics and no stress over time limits (That i encountered so far) that i love from GYK

Got this for free on Epic Games, well worth buying.

Even if it invokes immense frustration with rng

Quite a short game but i enjoyed it while it lasted, especially since im actually writing a review for it

Pros:
- Damn good art style, shocked this is a free to play game with the quality designs

- Game mechanics, the different skills and utility for each of the team units and enemies are quite varied and interesting to use. Possibility to make a Jack of All Trades kinda character or have one centered solely on a role.

- Variety of enemies are pretty good and need to plan strategies as they can get difficult at times (Except the vampire >:( the vampire sux)

- griffin birb go nyoom

Cons:
- Dear god please just let me have an option wether i want the turn to automatically proceed or not. devs pls
If you dont use your 0 AP utility skills and such first before using up you AP then it immediately go to the next unit's turn, its irritating as hell as i dont have a chance to review things before i move onto the next turn.

- Settings and game UI (?). Dear god the UI is both decent yet agonizing at same time, theres no proper way to customize it either. Example is you have to click to move your unit and not only have a choice to use a keybind but can also click an icon above the enemy to attack/use a skill. But because of that you run into the risk of accidentally moving your unit out of range instead of using the skill you wanted
Settings tab feels like it just lacks in general i guess

- Really no proper way to view your units stats + equipment. Have to go into the shop and in the inventory to few the equipment and stats while you have to go to the area to hire the units to look at the skillsets and such. Also quite annoying you cant see the descriptions of the skills when in the level up screen so i get stuck having to go back and forth to compare things
Tbh game just needs some better overlays or something so dont get stuck having to switch between
windows constantly for some info

despite those annoyances i'd say it is a good time killer

Rude Baby Red did a great summary on it (I havent played enough to see the lootboxes but oof)

Dont buy this game full price, wait for some big discount.
If anything buy BTD5 first, BTD6 is very different so if you're used to BTD5 its quite a learning curve esp with the upgrade paths

Im trying to give it a shot because it looks like it has a lot of interesting mechanics added but im struggling

The graphics are really nice tbh, even though its 3d it still gives off the 2d vibe

I really love the hero monkeys, the VA is pretty good (note i only have Archer Monkey unlocked idk about the other ones), and the design look cool
