So I'm only about 40% of the way through this game, but so far I'm really enjoying it. I don't quite understand some of the complaints other people have about it - it seems like there is a variety of ways to win a level. I get the impression folks just wanted it to be More Defense Grid, and it is different to that.

There's a fair variety of enemies - the bugs in particular keep you on their toes as they have the ability to crawl over towers, and most towers get disabled while they have a bug on them, which is a pain if that tower happens to be important for taking down the huge wave of golems that happense to be walking past at the time.

I like the way it saves your progress at each wave, and it is easy to go back to a previous wave (and the state of your map at the time you did that wave) if you decide that you'd rather change your approach. I really like it. I don't understand the hate.

I am really enjoying this game - if you likes the old Lucasarts point 'n click games, you'll probably love it - and if you found the endless back-and-forth and random inexplicable item combinations frustrating in those old games, you'll find this one a refreshing change. I've found myself a little stuck on a couple of the puzzles, but never for too long. The script is amusingly wry, and the game is actually quite surprising in its ability to Go Where No Point-N-Click Adventure Has Gone Before. Thoroughly Recommended.
