Among Us is an excellent hidden-role game similar to Town of Salem and Push the Button.

Innersloth's signature graphical style works well for the straightforward gameplay of Among Us, as does the distinct sound design. While there is no single-player mode, the game's lobbies can be both private and public, meaning you don't need friends to play the game. Be warned, however, as the lack of built-in voice chat sours the experience somewhat. I have had the best experiences playing the game in a private lobby with a group of friends, using Discord to communicate verbally during the game's meetings.

At only $4.99, Among Us provides a fantastic amount of entertainment. The low price also provides a low barrier of entry for every and their friends to play together. Strictly speaking, this game is well-worth its surprisingly low price. Though, I must reiterate: the game is at its best when all of your friends have purchased a copy. Most of the fun comes not from the actual gameplay but from the tense conversations held during the game's meetings.

Despite releasing in 2018, Among Us did not see popularity until recently. As a result, Innersloth has committed to updating the game frequently. With several balance-changes already having been made and a new map on the horizon, I believe Among Us is a fine candidate for the 2020 "Labor of Love" award.

In summary, this game is a great find for fans of hidden-role games — even more so if you bring some friends along.

As a fan of single-player squad-based shooters, I rarely find a game that is as satisfying as Star Wars: Republic Commando.

The gameplay is somewhat dated in some aspects (having released in 2005) and remarkably innovative in others. On hard mode, the game pressures you to effectively command your squad. I loved using the game's command system to direct my squad mid-combat. Whether I was telling them to defend an area, focus-fire on a high-value target, or simply instructing them to flush out the remaining enemies in a large area. The different scanners, HUD choices, and weapon augmentations serve to emphasize this immersion even more.

Fans of modern shooters will notice the outdated control scheme. It took a bit of tinkering with the keybinding to bring the controls back up to something recognizable. Furthermore, the game is graphically unimpressive when compared to it's modern counterparts. Still, it does its job for a 15 year-old Xbox game.

Fans of the Star Wars universe will love the game's story. And while the game itself is now part of Legends canon, Delta Squad themselves are a part of official canon due to their appearance in The Clone Wars. Either way, the story is captivating and moving, canon or otherwise.

While there are a few modern takes on squad-based shooters (e.g: the Ghost Recon series), I must recommend this for any fans of the genre or the setting. Especially for only $10.

A fun, charming, and unfortunately short game.

A classic co-op shooter that is dwarfed by its sequel in every way. PAYDAY: the Heist is a good game but PAYDAY 2 is simply better. Go buy that game instead.

Despite releasing in 2004, garry's mod remains a must-have. The community-fueled nature of the game means that some mode is always relevant. Whether you're server-hopping alone or playing with a large group of friends, garry's mod provides far more entertainment than you would expect for only $10.

A fun classic with an engaging single-player but deceased multiplayer. There exist some workarounds online that can help you set up private lobbies but don't buy this expecting a player-base on par with any modern multiplayer shooters. Still, the single-player experience alone is worth the price tag, especially for Star Wars fans.
