Sword Of The Sea is all the beauty of Journey.
Sword Of The Sea is all the puzzles and swift movements of The Pathless.
Sword Of The Sea is all the relaxing aquatic filled life of ABZÛ.

Sword Of The Sea is a touching tribute to these three legendary games, wrapped up in it's own unique story. Every moment is spent relishing in the nostalgic memories of its predecessors while standing in awe at the new journey in front of you. Giant Squid has once again knocked it out of the park with such an amazing game. From the visuals to the soundtrack everything is a cherry on top. I 100% recommend this game to any of those who have played their previous three titles mentioned above.

I do have to mention the elephant in the room that everyone else speaks of. This game does need a couple of patches for optimization as frame rates are constantly dropping no matter the settings. I know that the developers will fix this quickly, if this is something that bothers you hold off. If you are like me and absolutely cannot wait to play the game, jump right in. Thankfully I haven't had any crashes just a lot of stuttering.

I have not finished but all I can say is this game deserves the recognition that Baldur's Gate 3 and other AAA games have gotten. Biggest win of this game is the very emotional and well written story line. It grabs you the second the game starts and you cannot stop until you finish. I can already tell that I'll probably cry ***** tears at the end. The main characters have rich and lengthy backstories and the NPC's are also given some rich stories once you're able to interact with them. The content of the game is lengthy but it feels right given that each villager you interact with have their own story that contributes to the decision you made at the beginning of the game. I can't stop there though, this game is visually STUNNING between all the different biomes that you travel through. This stretches all the way to the artwork displayed on loading screens, these acrylic/oil style stills are on another level. I wished they are available for downloads because I'd make some of them my new screen saver. Combat may be a small hurdle to overcome especially when you have to play an hour or two before getting the rifle. Once you get a hang of the combat everything about the game just feels right. I've always been one to watch decision making games and never play them, but the uniqueness of this game drew me into to trying it and I have not been disappointed. The 1692 New England/Ghost haunting setting feels unique and fresh to all the other decision making games out there. Finals thoughts, if you had a single shred of doubt about this game I'm here to tell you just buy it. You will not be disappointed.

I wrote a review on their newest DLC, but I thought I'd write another here. I don't understand the bad rap this game is receiving. I may not have played the board game to fully understand why the virtual game isn't fairing as well. And I might not have been there when an update 'broke' the game. I've never had any bug issues when I've played by myself or with a group of friends. I think the length of the game is perfect compared to some strategy games I've played and the concept is wonderful. Their soundtrack is a banger, I'd honestly add it to a play list if I could. For those wondering if this game is really worth it. YES. YES IT IS. Whether you're playing by yourself or with a small group of friends I can guarantee that you will have tons of fun. I have almost 35 hours in this game and I still don't think I've played through every single card. I really hope they continue releasing their expansions virtually, because from my understanding the remaining few are some of the best yet.

Apparently I have not played the board game to understand the bad rap the online version of this game and the DLC are getting. I have loved this game since I got it, and haven't seemed to run into any issues playing with myself or others. This is a wonderful game, and from my 1 hour glance an excellent DLC. I hope they continue with further expansions. I have seen the board game and all of its expansions but have hesitated buying since they are getting released virtually. Please continue the hard work, and release the two other expansion as from what I've read are the most fun.

Only was able to get through half the game before getting bored but ultimately frustrated too. The puzzles felt like child's play and not very enthralling. The only one that knocked my socks off was the Jester's Realm. Even at that we soft locked ourselves at the very end of the puzzle and just gave up the game. We played the previous games and we're very excited for this one, but I personally think it doesn't compare. The puzzles lack the creativity the previous games did especially when comparing it to We Were Here Together. I found the puzzles were absent of hazards, where tension was built to finish the puzzle in a time constraint. I strongly feel the puzzles were also very symmetric. Meaning that once one person figured out their side, they could just tell their partner exactly what to do to solve it. It took away the magic you get when both you and your partners problem solving skills and teamwork are what complete the puzzle. All in all I can say that you may have more fun with the previous games than this one.

If I could give a "Meh" review I would. Up side is that I enjoy the game play, and I like the classes. Psyker has been an awesome class to play and I love the staffs they get. Down side, the cash shop. The cash shop on release but next to none weapon crafting made me not like this game a lot. I miss the crafting mechanics from Vermintide.

Review so far: I've seen a lot of people complain of stuttering issues, which made me nervous. In my 4.5 hours of playtime right now, I have not once experienced stuttering. If you thoroughly enjoyed "The Pathless" you will love this game. The mechanics and setup of this game are very similar. I picked up this game because I haven't been disappointed by the handful of games I've played that Annapurna has published. Secondly, I wanted to play this game because I found the art style breath taking, and that too has been astonishing. I highly recommend this game to anyone who played and enjoyed "The Pathless", "Outer Wilds" and or "Journey". This game so far has made my Top 5 list of the best relaxing and adventuring games I've played.
