The only thing terrible about the game is that TheBurntPeanut ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it over within the first few weeks. As long as you don't run into that crew, the game is really fun and engaging. I will write another review at 100hrs if the peanut problem has fixed itself.

Overall the game is great - lovely mechanics, mostly smooth transitions between weapon swaps or going inside to outside. Honestly, the base of the game is really well constructed. The fluidity of being downed while running, causing the character model to stumble and fall is amazingly done, among other mechanics that just tickle me pink. Solid game, it's just the community that needs a little tweaking.

Alright, a POST 100hrs review:
Love this wonderful piece of art of a game. I've been able to get a grip on movement mechanics, weapon handling and PvPvE battles all relatively easy. Now that I know how lobby match making works and all ins n outs of handling hostiles (The players and now more on my level with the occasional person who just wants to look players only), I have honestly say this game quickly made it to my top 5 all time faves.

PROs:
-You control the people you face. If you are hostile, you get hostile players. I am not (only 5 KO's in my time playing), and so I don't really have to deal with rats or TheBurntPeanuts followers anymore (That and doing more solo runs).
-Very minimal bugs I've experiences - which is great for a modern game. Most of the ones I have heard of seemed to be ones that you would have to try and create for the most part. Playing regularly, I don't think I've ever bugged out.
-If your internet craps out, you can still rejoin as long as you don't close the game - AMAZING IMO
-No forced Resets. The game seems balanced enough for the reset to actually feel optional. I don't think I will ever need to
-Friendly people (if you are friendly first).
-Like all games, the weapons are still being worked on, but I think they way they are currently feels balanced for me

CONS:
-I can't play in my sleep
-The game is very addictive
-Physical pain happens when you are fully kitted and looted up but die 3 inches from extract
-Lobbies feel pretty small for the size of the maps
-The shredder shreds too much. As a solo player, walking around the corner and getting insta clapped from one of those baddies is not fun. There is absolutely no reaction time (I run with guns away so people don't shoot me first just for having it up). I think having enough time to dodge roll away is important, but the recent buff to the enemy makes it so much harder, especially because it's attack is omni-directional, which means you have to EXIT THE AREA to have a chance at avoiding the thing
-There's not enough for me to complain about so I have to make stuff up.

Thank you all! Hope this updated review helps some folks out!
Kindly,

I have almost 104hrs in the game... Of COURSE I'm getting this! I fully expect to breach 1000 hours of play time, and that right there deserves my support!

Like the game, don't love it. May change my tune if more mission/story-line becomes available.

Right now my main gripe is such: I'm on my 5th or 6th playthrough, however the game is no longer saving my progress. On my most recent play-through, I've beaten the game 3 times, but when I close and reopen Halo:Infinite, it takes me back to the check point just after I do the 2nd to last major mission (avoiding details for obvious reasons; spoilers). All of the saves presently seem to have this issue and I will continue troubleshooting, but this and the story are the only major things I have issues with.

I've played halo for over 14 years. I love the franchise, the universe and all of the lore. It's so detailed and has so much depth (until recently, this is an opinion) that you can be wrapped up in it for hours and still find new information. I'm excluding recent shows from this opinion.
Lets focus on Halo: Infinite though. The world in this particular game is fantastically done with what is currently available. There is a lot of height, areas to explore and you can literally go from one end of the world to the other (something I've long dreamed of instead of those point to point missions) with ease. For this world, it made sense to add the grapple mechanic, as I've found great use in it. However, I thought that this was a Halo ring, not a planet. Where's all the underground chambers and data collection centers? It doesn't all have to be explore-able, but halos are very vertically mapped, as we saw in Halo: CE. So much so that you can ply a Pelican inside the ring itself. I'm not sure if they plan to add sections like this to the world, but it would be really awesome to see more depth to what feels like a "surface world". There is a lot of world to explore already that just kind of feels... Small compared to the way it was talked about previously. I assume future updates will change this and if so, I will edit this part of my review.
The characters are mostly great and I love the elaboration in some aspects of the main character (Master Chief), however I felt some of the more important characters were too "in and out" in terms of the roles they should have played in the story, which at some points created a bit of confusion (since cleared up after multiple play throughs and watching some videos) and made it seem like there was missing information. I know that there are points that are clearly kept from the story for story building purposes, but other small tidbits of information seem to be missing or placed elsewhere (like in the extended lore) that really should have been in the game itself. Perhaps things will be added later on that will help clear things up or help to make more sense of what was there.
The side characters (mostly the marines that you can save within the world) seemed mostly pointless and like they were added in just to have them around. It's fun to drop by a FOB and pick up a few guys who will ultimately die when a grunt gives them a hug with plasma grenades, but I think a useful addition would have been giving chief a battle field display (could even be part of the main map as an option) where he could send troops to specific locations or have them rally on himself. I assume, in all this chaos, that Chief is the highest ranked officer on the ring, which would make sense for him to have the capacity to control marines. I think it would be a little refreshing seeing Chief give the orders instead of take them for once, but this is an opinion of course.

Overall the game was good and I will continue to play it, adding more or taking away things from this review as time goes on and the game is expanded upon. Solid 7/10 as it stands with me presently.
