Rig: Bigscreen Beyond | RTX 5090 | i9-14900K

The Gold Standard for Physics-Based Dungeon Crawling

As a dedicated PCVR player, I skipped the Quest version and waited for the Steam release. Running this on a Bigscreen Beyond powered by a 5090, the experience is buttery smooth. While you can tell it has mobile roots, the PCVR enhancements bring the visuals to a solid 8/10—the lighting and clarity are great, even if there’s still room for even more high-end texture work.

Combat & Physics
The highlight here is the weight and accuracy of the weaponry. I run a Longbow/Scimitar/Hatchet combo, and it feels incredible:
* Archery: The physics are pinpoint accurate. Sniping enemies from across a chamber feels earned and satisfying.
* Melee: The scimitar has great "heft" for close-quarters panic moments.
* Throwables: Tossing a hatchet mid-combat is fluid and rarely suffers from the "clunk" found in lesser VR titles.

Performance & Social
On a high-end rig, the game is flawlessly stable with negligible glitches.
Regarding the community: Matchmaking is a mixed bag. You’ll encounter a fair share of younger players (with the expected noise/behavior), but there is a solid core of veteran gamers and friendly adults. The game truly shines in co-op with a friend, where you can coordinate tactics without the chaos of random lobbies.

Verdict: If you want a polished, physics-heavy dungeon crawler that actually respects your high-end hardware, this is a must-buy.

Highly Recommended - The VR Co-op Shooter We've Been Waiting For!

My buddy and I are both in our 40s and absolute fanatics when it comes to online VR co-op shooters. I'm ex-military, he's a hardcore gamer, and we both run serious rigs (Bigscreen Beyond headsets, RTX 5090/4080 Super, 3D printed gun stocks for Index controllers). We've been eagerly awaiting Zero Caliber 2 Remastered, and I'm happy to report it delivers.

Initial Technical Hiccup (Resolved)

Full transparency: I initially ran into issues getting the game to launch on my RTX 5090 system. However, the devs were lightning-fast and addressed this in their first patch. I haven't personally verified the fix yet since I switched to my 4080 Super PC, which has been running the game nearly flawlessly, but major props to XREAL Games for the quick response.

The Good Stuff

This game is fantastic. It's action-packed, visually stunning, and an absolute blast in co-op. The graphics are genuinely AAA-quality - we're talking proper PCVR visuals that take full advantage of high-end hardware and hi-res headsets. The weapon variety is excellent, and every gun handles beautifully with satisfying weight and recoil. Playing through the campaign with a friend on Veteran difficulty has been some of the most fun we've had in VR this year.

Not Perfect, But Close

I've encountered a few instances of freezing and crashes, but they're infrequent enough not to ruin the experience. The enemy AI is solid but has room for improvement - more on that below.

Bottom Line: If you love VR FPS games, especially co-op experiences, this is an easy recommendation. It's clear the devs put real effort into making a proper PCVR title, not a lazy port.

---

Feature Requests & Feedback for the Devs:

We've been discussing some improvements that would elevate this game even further:

1. Secondary Weapon Holster Position
Please add the ability to switch the secondary weapon spot to the left side of the vest. With physical gun stocks, it's inefficient to cross over to grab pistols from the right side. A left-side option would massively improve weapon switching flow.

2. "Nightmare" Difficulty
While Veteran is challenging at first, we're getting better quickly and starting to dominate. We're literally praying for a "Nightmare" or "Hardcore+" difficulty mode for players who want that extra brutal challenge.

3. Slide Mechanic
A tactical slide (run + crouch) would add fantastic dynamic movement options - sliding into cover, akimbo sliding attacks, the works. This is a staple in modern FPS games and would fit perfectly here.

4. AI Improvements
- Enemies don't react realistically to suppressing fire. In real combat, sustained cover fire pins people down. Right now they largely ignore it.
- Balancing issue: Sometimes you can barely peek from cover without getting instantly sniped from extreme distances, yet other times AI feels too passive. Needs more consistency.

5. Co-op Reconnection Issues
When one player crashes and rejoins, all mission progress and stats are lost. This is incredibly frustrating. Please implement a system to preserve progress/stats when reconnecting to an active co-op session.

6. Enhanced Gun Stock Calibration
The virtual stock support works decently out of the box, but we need per-weapon calibration adjustments (like Contractors has). Different rifles and scopes don't always align perfectly with physical stocks. Being able to fine-tune position and angle for each weapon would be huge for us gun stock users.

---

Final Verdict:
Despite a few rough edges, Zero Caliber 2 Remastered is the real deal. XREAL Games clearly cares about the PCVR community, and we're excited to see where they take this with future updates.

Recommended for:
VR enthusiasts with decent hardware, co-op shooter fans, anyone tired of arcade-style VR shooters
Best played:
With a friend on Veteran difficulty, using a gun stock if you have one.

👍
Would recommend!

If the devs implement even half of these feature requests, this could easily become THE definitive VR military shooter. Keep up the great work!

I've completed the campaign in coop with a friend in about 10 hours. I think it's a good sequel for what it is, an ''arcade-style adventure game zombie shooter"! It retains the humorous tone of the first one with nice graphics that are kind of cartoony at times but also creepy and plenty gory! Notably, the dog companion mechanics is a really fun addition.

I would say go ahead and buy the game full price, it's worth it IMO if you have a decent setup to play it, especially on PCVR. Not only that but I'm sick of all those people complaining about the price being too high, VR is still emerging and we need more AAA titles to come out, encourage the developers and all the hard-working people who worked on this game together for you and actually don't wait for a sale!

I'm excited and if it's anything like After the Fall I expect lots of bug fixes, extensions and surprises from the development team down the road.

My only criticism is that they need to add a harder mode, because Apocalyptic was a tiny bit too easy for us!

Still, it was lots of fun!

*Edit: It's been about 2-3 weeks since release now and the developers have released a solid update already tweaking and polishing the game in many aspects, as predicted! Optimistic about this title getting better and better. Don't trust negative early reviews!

No Man's Sky is an extraordinary game that has captured my imagination with its stunning visuals and beautiful graphics. The developers' dedication to constantly providing free updates is commendable, adding tons of features, content, and improvements over time. The gaming mechanics are efficient and highly addictive, making every session engaging and exciting.

One of the standout features for me is the procedural nature of the game. It creates a vast and unique universe to explore, ensuring that no two experiences are ever the same. Additionally, the ability to play in VR is a game-changer. Piloting spaceships in VR with a HOTAS system is an amazing experience that works seamlessly, adding a whole new level of immersion.

Overall, No Man's Sky is a must-play for anyone who loves exploration and adventure. The continuous updates and fantastic gameplay mechanics make it a game that keeps on giving. Highly recommended!

Move over John Wick! You think John is cool but then you play this and you feel you are way cooler. B)

Everything is supremely good here: gameplay mechanics, soundtracks, graphics, etc.

One of my all-time favorite VR titles, great when you just have a few minutes to play but want some real fun action, you'll break a sweat playing just one or two missions. Always challenging, it has a lot of replayability.

The new campaing updates are also super fun. Glad the developers keep adding content like this, and for free? it's impressive bang for your buck! Those updates feature short interludes in motion comics form and it's high end work, very well done, professional comic art and great voiceovers. I personally as a comic fan really enjoy this format and hope they keep adding more of these special campaigns.

Kudos!

I own an Index kit and so does a good friend of mine, we are always on the lookout for new multiplayer / online coop titles. We had a blast playing Arizona Sunshine and we have now moved on to SURV1V3 and both look forward to our weekly sessions.

Overall this game is GREAT, lots of fun! We played through the campaign and it was pretty cool, we are now having fun in survival mode which is surprisingly good and feels like it has a bit more RPG elements, crafting and earning special weapons. The graphics are fantastic and the game runs very smoothly on our machines. The gunplay is quite realistic and the zombies are pretty cool as well.

One good thing is the developers seem very engaged in polishing the game and making the experience better and better, the latest updates have been frequent and kind of awesome!

I would recommend this game to anyone, even to play on your own. Probably the closest experience / training in case of a real ''zombie apocalypse''. Well you never know, better be prepared! :D

#FightLikeHell

I haven't much to say that hasn't been said better already, just want to add my 2 cents.

As a long-time fan of the DOOM franchise, I am in heaven (hell).

This game is simply fantastic (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy violent).

I love the beautiful graphics and attention to detail (blood and gore aplenty).

Everything is just PERFECT. (Going around cutting demons with a chainsaw).

My life sucks, my girlfriend is dumb and ugly, I have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dead-end job, but now DOOM is BACK. (SO WHO GIVES A ♥♥♥♥.)

PS. Just kidding, my life is awesome, FTW. (PS. I love you ID Software).

How could Dying Light become more awesome than it already was? Simple, by adding to your arsenal a fully customizable buggy. You can also be a passenger in your friend's vehicle and shoot from the top. Absolutely freaking fantastic.

Nice story, lots of content and unlockables. One of the best video games I've ever seen with a ton of replayability.

I got this expansion FREE with the season pass, just like the Enhanced edition update, Dying Light is the game that keeps on giving!

I've never been much into zombie games but I feel like this one finally got it right!

First the graphics are amazing and the lightning is particularly remarkable. The parkour system is fantastic and the only thing better might be the new buggy introduced in The Following [which is an impressive expansion on its own]. It's a total blast to drive around in the countryside through hordes of monsters.

There are a lot of various weapons and the crafting is pretty cool. All in all it's a really nice survival / horror / action sandbox game that I highly recommend, especially for it's campaign coop mode which is uniquely entertaining. It features some quite decent acting and much more content than most similar titles.

This is a purchase you won't regret, Dying Light is the ultimate zombie game!

+ You can also play the whole game as a Ninja! 11/10

Early Access Review
*Now with light cycle battles!!!*

This title deserves every positive review it gets. It was great even when there were only the regular runner disc levels, but with the addition of 6 cycle levels the game has much more substance and double the fun!

This game makes perfect sense in the Tron universe. You collect bits which you can use to purchase various power ups that add some variety to the gameplay and helps you in getting bigger scores.

Riding the cycle is everything you'd want it to be and better, visuals are mind-blowing and soundtrack is entrancing. The fun really starts once you get the controls. Every Tron fan should pick this up and ride one of those epic light cycles.

+Positive mention for giving away free copies of Tron 2.0, a timeless classic.
