I have spent many weekends losing track of time with friends far and wide.

REPO is wonderfully entertaining, and every aspect of its physics based shenanigans seems to hold never-ending potential for laughs and enjoyment.

Definitely a game to play with friends. Go solo once or twice if you want to practice, but trust me, you'll want your friends with you for this one.

Tremendously entertaining. There's not a lot of depth to this game (yet) but The dev seems attentive and active, and the community is a delight to interact with. Many Laughs to be had with this one, punctuated with intense moments of competition.

Fantastic. Having a ton of fun with this one. Unexpected gunplay mechanics and a great aesthetic worked out to be really fun!

Edit: I did not realize this was a "Gooner" game until after i'd gifted it to a few friends. I just thought the person making the game had incredibly specific stylings they were going for.

I stand by my original Review, this was a fun game for sure, and I look forward to seeing what this dev does in the future. But, Just in case it isn't obvious from looking at the steam page, don't be surprised by a very specific style to the games graphics.

Hugely Entertaining.
I can't think of how to describe why I loved it without story spoilers.

Needless to say, if you have a taste for sci fi, dystopian, or eldritch settings, you'll love this.

EDIT 8/18/2024
A friend of mine has convinced me to give this game another try.
We'll see if anything's different this time around.

Original Review: The Trailers and the way it "sells" itself as a game are incredibly misleading.

It's slow, it's story is riddled with cliche's that are uninteresting, and the combat is slow and monotonous and repetetive.

This game has some very cool visuals, but unfortunately that's where all the interesting stuff seems to be, and it's not worth playing the game to try and find the visuals. :(

I've been playing this since it dropped, and it was a glorious time. I can't think of another time I've had such fun with friends and fellows. I couldn't have Recommended this game more highly.

...and then Sony had to go and Screw it up for everyone.
As of when I'm writing this review, Sony has just rescinded their flimsy and unjustified intention of making PSN accounts mandatory for PC players.
Sony has seen the stick, and they know we’re willing to wack em with it where it hurts: right in the pocketbook.

Assuming that Sony is able to keep their nasty mitts off this game going forward, just like they did for the first free months, Helldivers 2 may well be the best game of the year, and likely will remain a top 10 favorite of many gamers for years to come.

If the game goes forward with the same trajectory it started with, I could easily see myself playing and enjoying this game for years to come. Emphasis on "if." With the caveat that we'll have to watch Sony like a hawk for any future Boneheaded decisions.

And so in summary, If Sony can keep to themselves and let Arrowhead continue to deliver what is in my opinion one of the best games I've ever played, I do and will strongly recommend this game to other players.

A challenging game that always ends the same way and yet never loses its charm.

I started just before Update 40, and am Writing this review after update 45.
It's been wonderful!
The creator really seems to be acting on the feedback they're getting.
It's been a great ride so far and I can't wait to see how the game goes from here!

tl;dr at the bottom
All of the performance issues are easily fixed, none of them factor into my review of the largest horror dissapointment of the last ten years.

I loved the Dead Space games. Lots of fun. One of the few games that actually every scared me. Aside from dripping slimy monsters that constantly change and mutate, are easily dismembered, and have a plethora of animations to kill you with, Callisto Protocol has nothing in common with its predecessor.

At no point during Callisto protocol was I ever actually scared, Not even jumpscared, nor spooked and sitting at the edge of my seat with goosebumps because of the atmosphere.

Every Single Scare, jump or otherwise, was entirely telegraphed and predictable. At no point playing this game did something surprise me.

Instead of the horror game I expected, What i got was a prolonged experience of intense frustration, Tedious and unnecessarily prolonged "cut-scenes" for every little thing you do in the game.

As for how the game looks, its great. Couldn't ask for better visuals.

But how good this game looks cannot save it from being poorly made otherwise. It is essentially, an enormous piece of reeking gory garbage still dripping with blood, presented in a garbage bag made of gold leaf, and no matter how good or pretty the graphics of this game are, you're still being presented with a heaping pile of filth.

tl;dr
Do Not Buy Callisto Protocol
You Will be Severely Disappointed

Very fun. Lots to do even though it's not done yet.
