Honestly I would have dropped like, $5 on what the demo already gives us, so as long as the development doesn't go inexplicably and horribly wrong somehow I'm going to be buying the game as soon as it gets far enough for an Early Access launch. Try the demo, it's free, and it's beyond addicting with custom music imports to the point where I've accidentally ended up playing other games to music beats like it's this game.

This time it's my fault, I should have known better as a WA founder than to expect anything but a repeat of WA. They took 6 months in early access where they released "one major content update and four hotfixes" and decided that the game is ready to leave EA already. When the tutorial still tells you to "Use the Energy Saw to harvest trees for gatering a lot of wood.", still has tutorial popups cut off the text partway through, and can't even decide if they wanted to use "Data Disk" or "Datadisk" then that's not a game ready to release into a "finished" state. That's dumping a second early access update with a bunch of community created islands and calling it done so Steam doesn't mark it as EA abandonware.

The country select screen was laggy so I got my orbs and quit. If a game can't get a stable 20 FPS when only a drop down GUI and nothing else is on the screen then that's enough of a red flag.

This game is amazingly fun with friends, absolutely worth the money. While everyone is gathering materials I'm the furniture gremlin carrying an entire Ikea back from the offices and stealing paintings off the walls. And I guess there's a good survival game somewhere in there too.

The game was decent, but it definitely feels very much like a beta. I wasn't a fan of the janky "have your character put their hand on the doorknob before you can actually open the door" stuff, it just wasn't very reliable and I had to spend way too long trying to angle my body and get it to register it as a valid state to interact. I'm hoping the optimization is fully complete by release, the vines specifically absolutely tanked my framerate into a slideshow and it was quite inconsistent in how it ran between zones, apparently needing me to tab out and back in to fix the framerate in low-impact zones as I found out in the very last 10 minutes of the game. Overall a good beta-level demo and the concept is alright.

Early Access Review
If you can push through the character creation pandering to a certain audience this game feels very fun, with a wonderful "simple to learn, plenty to master" style. Definitely worth grabbing for $10, it has a pretty good feel of a classic MMO, as well as fun action gameplay.

In a sea of hastily produced mascot horror garbage for kids this one feels like an actual breath of fresh air. Sure it has some of the usual trappings, but mainly the ones that come with the territory of "mascot horror". For once the mascot designs seemed like actual mascots instead of obvious horror bait. The game actually used tension instead of immediately throwing the monsters in your face, and it had pretty fun writing for the main mascot. Overall it's a passion project and you can feel the passion for the project rather than passion to make a franchise.

Play Voices of the Void instead, at the time of this review it's a better game about this subject with more content, is in active development, and isn't $22 since it's currently free "pay what you want".

If you liked the original Crisis Core you will love the remake. The combat feels smooth and modern, the enemies are actually a challenge where you can't just stunlock them with magic or back attacks, the DMW is now off to the side and roll without interruption and all those cutscenes are skippable! The graphics are great for what it is too! The only issues I've noticed is that the old FMVs are noticeably upscaled or whatever, and the new Zack VA is hard to get used to if you're a fan of the original. Overall, I highly recommend it to any fans of CC!

Wait for the SDK to be actually complete and mods to actually come out. As-is it's not worth $45. You can feel every Quest compromise in the physics and level design, and the game itself is way too short for what they're charging especially when you compare it to Boneworks. Right now it feels like a game that was stripped down for Quest and ported back to PCVR instead of a proper Boneworks successor.
