Early Access Review
(As of Early Access Janurary 2026)
It's absolutely a fun and adorable game, however it can be very unstable and prone to freezing and crashing at random points, even with minimal animations. I'd like to see more graphical settings or opimizations for future updates as well as some balancing for bosses - randomly you'll stumble upon a boss that can rack up hundreds of stars in a single turn.

Other than that it's absolutely a reccommend, however I'd wait until further updates or full release for stability.

Until the bugs are fixed that either impede the gameplay or make it literally impossible to play, I can not recommend buying this game in the state it's currently in. People are reporting en masse the game crashing after the tutorial, loading just a black screen, text glitching out and becoming unreadable and facial textures failing to load - which makes the point of the game impossible since if you cant see what nose they have, you cannot know if they're real or not and risk losing to a bug that should have been fixed before launch - and even more glitches and bugs that hinder gameplay. Wait until these things are fixed before buying this game.

As someone who's not that good with horror games but absolutely loves the genre, this game is perfect for me. The game holds true to its disclaimer (no big jumpscares or any chases) while still making the game feel like it's about to break that promise at any moment just because.

I felt extremely anxious the entire time but in a way where I don't feel like I need to step away just to be able to breathe. I felt on edge in just the way I "wanted" to and the only big scare (the one that made me audibly yelp) occurred in the last day, though it was the type of scare that made me laugh a bit at myself for being jumped about it.

Overall, I really enjoyed the loop, I love the voice-work and the mechanics. I have a soft-spot for "anomaly" hunters - as I believe people call em.

I'm also pleasantly surprised it ran so smoothly on its "high" settings even on my old and dying laptop. Whoever did the optimization; you're an absolute wizard.

Had I to say one thing I disliked it'd be the Box Maze, I dont know if I just kept getting turned around or if that section really is just THAT long but I'm glad I managed to get out of it eventually. Well done to the dev and team!

While I only have 10 hours here on steam at the time of writing, I have well over 200 hours on Switch, this is an incredible game. The voices are wonderful, the art even more so. The game is fun to play and I genuinely love the death-loop and how things you do come up in dialogue with other characters (Hypnos commenting on what killed you each time, Olympians talking about bosses you've faced, your HP or who you encountered earlier in the same run) Not to mention the fact that Greek mythology is like, the BEST mythology.

The Boon combinations you can make use of also seems endless (even though Ares attack boon and Athena's dash are practically the best ones imo)

My one and only complaint is that Hypnos isn't a romance option and that makes me really sad. I love that sleepy lil guy. Also Thanatos' front facing sprite is mildly horrifying but that's just me.

[EDIT SO PEOPLE KNOW, THE GAME WON'T BE REMOVED]

I found this game through a NerdCubed video way back in 2017 but forgot about it until about a month ago when I finally bought it here on Steam and by whatever gods there be, am I happy I did.

The game is terrifyingly addictive (in my opinion) and after day 3 of having owned and played the game I was up in almost 9 hours played already. The game runs with the old-OS style and it runs far and STRONG with it, the way the battle screens and trap screens move makes me think of those super annoying viruses you'd get from downloading the wrong movie file online - the ones that move around before you can close them or even multiply when you try to close them - and it (while annoying as all hell the first couple of playthroughs) is honestly a length I didn't expect it to go to in terms of sticking to its theme.

There are some playthroughs that go a lot better or worse than others due to the seemingly random frequency and list of quests you end up getting and when (outside of guaranteed/required ones) and I've lost some playthroughs to not getting the "right" quests in time for my final battles.

I genuinely love the little enemy portraits and the overworld map feels huge even though it's not *that* big in the end.

I would have liked if the rogue-lite item transfer system displayed information on what items do before you spend the gems to transfer them from a dead playthrough to the other (the Ring of Pain really threw me off guard once I equipped it since I didn't know it'd be what activated Hard Mode) and some Enchanted items from dead playthroughs would have been nice to double check their unique stats before starting the playthrough, even with the naming scheme (which I still KINDA struggle with remembering what adjective represents what stat), that often will not tell you by how much it'll increase it by or what stat/level requirements that item has in its state.

I do also feel like certain UI elements such as the window control buttons or the interaction options could be a bit larger since it's very easy to missclick or just not hit the button at all, that might just be a personal issue though and maybe I've even overlooked some settings, if so, that's on me.

Other than that, it's a HUGE recommend for most any old RPG fan or generally any old-school gamers since the layout of everything is sure to bring nostalgia in both the best and worst ways.

9/10 would befriend a random little demon merchant again

Considering I've clocked in a total of 1k+ hours across both PC and Switch, it's hard for me to NOT recommend this game. The day I first got the game I played it for 12 hours straight and I've continued to play it since. Playing alone or with friends is a blast either way and it's a game I'll definitely put hundreds more hours into as time goes on.

The current newest update (1.6) has made me fall in love with the game all over again, and despite my many hours of play, it genuinely felt like playing for the first time again.

I cannot stress how great of a game this is, whether you only play for a bit every now and then or if you have hour-long sessions of play, pick it up if you have the chance, I promise you'll have fun either way. The beginning somewhat is slow, yes, but not unbearably so, unless it's Wednesday. And once the pace gets picked up, it will not slow down again. 10/10 game, would build a wine empire in the quarry again.

Usually I'm not at all interested in rogue like games but this one (and the previous one) just work for me.

Yea, the sometimes you do get runs that are doomed from the very first item and sometimes you basically become god but with how many different items and - by extension - how many different insane combinations (Dualshot with anything is incredibly powerful) I find myself actually curious to see what I'll get and how it'll go. I've had runs that lasted barely ten seconds due to something, literally, backfiring and I've had ones where I've blazed through it in no time.

It's a good game and, being a completionist type, the huge number of achievements make me even more excited to play.
