Writing this review after seeing Pizza Tower get screwed out of an award it rightly deserved - this game is probably my singleplayer game of the year for 2023. Tight controls that when learned facilitate some of the most satisfying high-speed movement I have ever experienced in any platformer, levels with satisfying layouts and gimmicks that make coming back to discover every little detail, P-rank them, do it again, and then do it with mods that add even more laps, nothing but fun all the way through. Bosses that're fun to fight against and avoid sugarcoating until you can defeat them without taking a single hit; an artstyle that's absolute eyecandy to look at, and a soundtrack that must have aimbot since it never misses to match, which provide a steady stream of enjoyment and nostalgia for '90s and 2000s cartoons and internet animation in tandem with the gameplay. It's not often that I call a game outright perfect, and I suppose nothing is perfect, but I'd say this game's extremely close, especially after patches that helped deal with the few rough edges that remained when the game initially launched; this is a game that I can see myself coming back to constantly for years to come, and is a game I can endorse wholeheartedly whether you're a casual player looking for a solid platformer to pick up and enjoy at your own pace, or someone that's willing to dump hundreds of hours into the game to do insane things some can only dream of.
