Sept 29th, 2025 edit: 2 things since the last update, the dev has finally made a small hello in the discord, with an accompanying small update by the mod team was posted. The second, more recent being the announcement of a dev joining the team to work on procedural weapons, as well as a small tidbit about what the upcoming main update (VTOL). Edits will be made to the review to reflect that the dev have finally returned.

As the warning under early access indicates, the last update was a long time ago. The dev went on a bit of an unannounced personal health break. As of Sept 2025, they have returned and is working on the game. I expect updates to be sporadic as they already were prior to their break, but the game is being worked on.

As for what the game in it's current state offers, it is in a playable and relatively stable state (for an early access release). True to the early access description, all features listed under the main "About this Game" box is available with the biggest problem being accessibility/ease of use. These features alone makes flyout's level of fidelity several levels above other similar games like SimplePlanes, Juno, and KSP. So if all you want to do is those things listed in that part of the store page, then the game might alread be perfect for you, just don't expect a very rapid development cycle by any means.

June 27, 2025 edit: It seems the game has been put on the summer sale. Afaik with how the process works with steam, it's up to the publisher (which in the case would be the developer since afaik it's self published) whether to participate or not. This would imply that the dev is in fact around, which makes it all the more disappointing that he's partaking in the event to try to get more sales on a game that he's been radio silent on for almost a year.

August 9th, 2025 edit: should have made an update earlier but on July 30th, the Mods made another post saying the dev should be back soon and we should get more news around early to mid August but no promises. In other words, another announcement made by mods that should be made by the Dev.

July 4th, 2025 edit: Mods in his discord has posted a message saying that they’ve heard from Stone (dev) now and that he will have more news soon. I’m cautiously optimistic considering the history of everything, but at least there’s finally news. Once said news is released I will adjust the review accordingly.

I'm doing my part

Smile Games and Amazon Games puts in minimum effort to add content (that already exists in other regions) and deal with the rampant botting problem. They rather ban out entire regions than actually deal with RMT bots.

If you're a new player this game will absolutely suck.

Game crashes, all the time. Cannot get past the second mission. The game always crashes just as the end cutscene starts.

I've now spent an hour just playing the same mission over and over, trying different things to fix the crashing.

It's a great game but until they fix that, please don't give them your money.

Great concept, fun. Can't wait to see the full game.
