The only regret in my life is playing fighting games. This place is filled with scum, inflated egos, scammers and losers. Please avoid the so-called "FGC" at all costs. A hobby that's supposed to be fun turns into a breeding ground for toxic gatekeeping, massive unearned egos, and people looking to clout-chase or scam newcomers. Local scenes will tell you to join them under the guise of having fun but in reality, they'll dox you behind your back and then complain about why their locals never get any newcomers.
