I originally deleted my negative review of this game because I figured I was being too harsh for locking new game plus behind a paywall. I wasn't harsh enough. In my original review, I said that this was one of the very few franchises left that seemed to be a good value for content. To see even this franchise fall to greed, I had said that the gaming market deserves a crash so hard that most if not all video game franchises stopped having new releases (deleted my review because of this part as obviously it's not fair to potential brand new video games that are genuinely good despite being few and far between). Every single multiplayer game and its franchises' player base is constantly being shifted and fractioned as not everyone buys the new game and not everyone stays on the older game. The some that have both games can only play one at a time. So you'd think single player games like this franchise would at least be better than ever, right? Just replay the old game if you have it and don't want the new game! That part.

Instead, with the new cash grabbing Director's Cut and Kiwami remakes delisting the prior versions that worked just fine because SEGA and/or RGG want players to give them more money? Would these older games have been delisted still if these remakes never came out? I've heard it's still possible to buy the "original" remastered versions of the now delisted games on GOG instead of Steam I haven't tried myself as I guess I was privileged to have already bought and played this franchise in the past before the mess its in now. This was the last Y/LAD game I bought and played, diminishing my interest in the games that have released since even despite their large sales when they inevitably happen. I'll just replay 0-8 and the Judgment games while I wait for Nagoshi Studio's Gang of Dragon.

After 3 complete playthroughs, I uninstalled this game to force myself to continue the other Yakuza games (also my disk space is puny) because this one is literally too addicting.
